Expert Review

PSX Extreme
12 January 2006
  • Excerpt: The blurb on the back of the game's case describes it as a "character-based 3D puzzle-solving adventure." That's a polite way of saying that you have to guide some poor sap through 185 individual mazes spread throughout six separate worlds. Each maze is a 3D environment populated with crystals, switches, traps, and an occasional monster or two.

Perfect Platform Publishing

GIN
16 November 2005
  • Excerpt: With the release of the PSP, Sony has now unveiled a new label called Platform Publishing. So what exactly is Platform Publishing? The PSP is a great platform, but as of yet does not really have a killer app that one thinks of when they think of the PSP. Probably Platform Publishing was created to solve this, though neither of these first two titles will probably accomplish that goal.

Frantix

Portable Review
22 October 2005
  • Excerpt: Is it just me, or does it seem like the PSP only has puzzle and racing games? I can’t really speak ill of either of the two genres when hits like Lumines, Ridge Racers and Burnout line the shelves, but I just thought I’d point it out. Looking at screens of Frantix, you might have been tricked into thinking it’s an action game with graphics like those of Untold Legends, but it feels more like a fast-paced version of the obscure GBA puzzle game, Zapper.

Game Over Online
20 October 2005
  • Excerpt: This review, much like Frantix, isn't going to have too many bells or whistles. I'm here to give you good people the straight and honest truth. Frantix is very simple. In all honesty, the easiest way to describe Frantix is to call it a 3D Lode Runner without all the ladders but plenty of ways to die. However, I can't leave it at that so let's get to it. Frantix is a puzzle game that has to face some serious competition.

  • Excerpt: Frantix is an intuitive 3D puzzle game from Sony Online Entertainment that requires the player to collect gems in order to advance through the various worlds. Taking control of a few generic heroes, you’ll have to overcome a series of environmental obstacles while avoiding enemies set out on thwarting your gem collecting scheme.

Frantix - PSP

Futuregamez.net
15 January 2006
  • Summary: Frantix is an original game for the PSP, granted, but that doesn't mean it's worth picking up - even at a bargain price. Sadly the game lacks spark and at times becomes infuriating. Probably one only for puzzle fans.

Frantix

JeuxVideo.fr
26 September 2006
