Summary: The final effort from Sony proved much better than anything Codemasters have produced so far, even if it is worse than F1 2000. The delivery of this was faster than an actual race aswell, so...not all bad...
Summary: I have long been a massive fan of Formula One and have loved the official games released on the PS2, PS3 and got this for the PSP with high hopes that this may allow me to play Formula One as I sat on my train on the way to work. The game has the official teams and tracks which is a minimum I would have expected from any official F1 game but the game is a well developed game with great graphics and brilliant sound effects but it was when I began to take part in a race...
Pros: Good graphics, excellent sound effects, brilliant gameplay, fantastic control system
Cons: Takes a little getting used to but stick with it for a fantastic game
Summary: I picked up this game awhile ago as I am a massive Formula 1 fan, and I have to say the game is very good but I didn't like it as much as the PS3 game. It is still good with some great features. However, the game feels like it is lacking in something. The game isn't very indepth and is more of a casual F1 game. The graphics are very good and some of the best I have ever seen on the PSP system. The game experiences no slowdown and the game runs fantastically smooth.
Summary: While this game is really good, i cant help thinking how much more they could have done with it. There has only been two games for the psp one in 2005 and then 2006, and thats where it all stopped. There was alittle trouble with the licencing agreements and now they have bene bought by codemasters. New f1 games have been worked on in 2008 and there expected to come put somtime in 2009, 3 years after the previous f1 release on the psp.
Formula 1 06:PSP: A brilliant rendition of a formula 1 game! ...
28 October 2008
Summary: I am, quite possibly, the biggest formula one fan on the planet! Seriously! With this being the case, I decided that shortly after the purchase of my PSP, that it would be a worthwhile investment to buy the newest F1 game at the time. This meant that the honours fell to a game entitled 'Formula 1 06'.
Pros: Great racing, detail, career mode, historic opportunity
Cons: Playable only on a small screen, due to console size
Summary: This is certainly a love or hate game. If you love F1, this game will appeal to you, but if it bores you rigid, then so will this game. I'm a bit late with the review, with its releases an entire 2 years ago, but I thought I could at least share my 'self-appraised' wisdom! F1 '06 is a good and realistic game, and is the only official game of its kind.
Summary: Formula 1 2006 was a game that came out too soon after its predecessor - Formula 1 '05. The older brother of formula 1 2006 brought about a new revolution in playstation gaming formula 1 racing. Finally, it was about genuine racing, and not about who was best at cutting corners. The main issue I have with formula 1 06 is the lack of development in making the game.
Pros: Excellent drive, good feel to car, great seasons mode
Cons: Nothing new, apart from the regular track, driver and team changes
Formula 1 2006 (PSP): Single player sim, not much more.

Summary: Looked around for this for ages after my mate had bought it with his PSP. After many attempts at winning it on eBay, I was finally successful. I looked forward to racing against my mate, and proving who is the champion of driving games. Unfortunately this is where the game falls over big time. There is no multiplayer option, I repeat, there is NO MULTIPLAYER OPTION.
Pros: Great for simulation fans, has all the cars, tracks and drivers for 2006
Summary: I bought my psp and formula 1 06 at the same time and like most people, think that formula 1 97 on the good old ps1 was the best game of this genre by far, especially for pure speed and realism. I cant really understand why people compare ps2 versions to psp version as its obvious of the limits of the psp compared to a major console so you have to go with the hardware you have and the game formats for it.
Summary: This is one of those games you really have to stick with it to get the most out of the game. This certainly isn't Burnout or Cars which are pick up and play. With this game it really is a question of practice makes perfect. One mistake ( as in real F1 ) and that's it. When I first played it I found the game very frustrating, but it is also strangely addictive.
