Crash of the Titans

Digital Chumps
26 June 2008
  • Conclusion: When asked by palgn.com if it was disappointing to see other developers work on Crash, Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells said "it's a bit like watching your daughter do porn." Those aren't exactly inspiring words, but I do feel that Crash of the Titans has erased some of the ills he may have received from Crash's other go-rounds. It's aimed at a younger demographic, but it's still chalk full of traditional platformer fun.

  • Excerpt: Crash is back, and this time he's gone all titanic on us. It's not easy being a... what sort of animal is the blighter... Whatever he is, it's not easy for him. His arch nemeses - Neo and Nina Cortez - are back, and they're up to no good. Namely, they're mutating the local creatures into monstrous abominations. Crash, as you might expect, is having none of it. Crash of the Titans sees a host of new abilities thrown into Crash's arsenal of moves.

  • Conclusion: THE VERDICT: Avoid and ignore. It isn't worth anyone's time and is a relic of an apparently bygone era. Please re-adopt the series, Naughty Dog.

  • Excerpt: Even though Crash Bandicoot has seen his fair share of portable titles already, Crash of the Titans actually marks his first entry on the PSP. Furthermore, it also makes this his first fully three-dimensional handheld game. Crash Bandicoot has been a long running franchise, originating as an exclusive series for only the PlayStation. Crash briefly became Sony's mascot, up until his retirement after Crash Team Racing - Naughty Dog's final Crash game.

  • Conclusion: Il n'est pas parfait mais le plaisir qu'il nous procure est tellement élevé qu'on lui pardonne ses quelques erreurs. Dommage que la durée de vie ne suive pas.

Crash of the Titans

GameRadio.de
21 November 2007
  • Summary: „Crash of the Titans“ hat alle Elemente eines klassischen Jump & Runs im Gepäck und kombiniert sie mit den steuerbaren Titanen. Den an sich recht abwechslungsreichen Schauplätzen mangelt es aber oft an erinnerungswürdigen Höhepunkten. Etwas nervig sind obendrein die mitunter langen Ladezeiten und kleinere Probleme mit der (nicht frei drehbaren) Kamera an bestimmten Stellen.
  • Pros: typisches Jump & Run-Gameplay, gelungene Grafik, zahlreiche Spezialattacken
  • Cons: lange Ladezeiten, Ladebildschirm kann manchmal einfrieren, Kameraprobleme an einigen Stellen

Crash of the Titans

  • Conclusion: Trotz der zahlreichen Kritikpunkte unterhlt Crash of the Titans , einen gewissen Zugang zum gepflegten Anarcho-Humor vorausgesetzt.
  • Pros: amüsantes Design, durchgeknallter Humor, anspreche Geschicklichkeitspassagen
  • Cons: liebloses Kampfsystem, hirnlose Minigames, fehlende Soundeffekte
