  • Excerpt: The game plays less like a modern shooter and more like a port of a much older game.

Coded Arms

Portable Review
22 October 2005
  • Excerpt: Many people were asking the question, “Between the PSP and DS, which one is going to have the best first person shooters?” Many people thought the PSP would simply due to it’s more powerful graphic capabilities; others thought the DS would since you can use the touch screen like a mouse. I’m starting to agree with the DS fans. Playing a first person shooter with the face buttons on the PSP just doesn’t seem right at all. I have yet to find a comfortable control scheme.

Coded Arms

Thunderbolt Games
5 September 2005
  • Excerpt: Remember Konami? What happened to them? They used to be a premier game studio, releasing games like Suikoden, Silent Hill, and Metal Gear Solid . Lately though, all of their games suck. Suikoden 3 and Suikoden 4 were disappointing sequels. Silent Hill 3 and Silent Hill 4 shouldn’t have even been part of the “Silent Hill” franchise because they were so bad. And do I need to even bring up the convoluted storylines of the last two Metal Gear Solid games?

Game Over Online
17 August 2005
  • Excerpt: The one elusive game type for a portable has to be the first-person shooter. Other than one or two exceptions, there really haven't been too many first person games in the handheld market. Thus enter Coded Arms. Coded Arms is a shooter based in virtual reality. It was an abandoned government project used for training purposes that developed sentience. So, what would anybody do in that situation? Hack it, of course.

Coded Arms

  • Conclusion: A novel idea that failed in executing the stuff surrounding the running and jumping and shooting, Coded Arms could have been a great, immersive cyberpunk tale, but instead it ends up skimming the surface of what could be a very cool world.

  • Pros: - sehr gute Grafik, - abwechslungsreiches Arsenal & Plug-Ins, - netter WLAN-Modus..., - kurze Ladezeiten
  • Cons: - monotones Leveldesign, - schwere & ungewohnte Steuerung, - ... aber keiner spielt's, - Raumstreaming ein wenig Nachteilhaft

PlaystationPortable.de
18 July 2006
  • Summary: Konami, was lief nur falsch?
