Summary: Wow, what a surprising game. First let's get past the requirements: yes you can play regular chess without the learning modes, either single player (against game controlled opponents) or against your friends. And yes, playing against the "computer" is awesome!
Well designed and fun game no matter your skill level.

Summary: This is an extremely well put together game that combines solid and fun learning tools, fun practice modes and a smooth and simple interface which will provide fun for a long time. This is a must have for any chess fanatic if you own a PSP regardless of your skill level.
Summary: Chessmaster Price is nice. Shipping very fast. I Purchase this game for my self to learn how to play Chess on PSP , always wanted to play. Home sick so did not get time to play the game yet ! Yes 49 years young in still enjoy video games like Poker + Spade + Music + Reading etc. Thanks !

Summary: There is little to be said about this game. It's fun and will give you hours and hours of entertainment. Different skill levels will have you occupied no matter where you are. Now my wife is complaining because she is the designated driver 24/7.
Summary: I got this for my 8 year old daughter. She is a beginner at chess, and she loves this game. She was able to figure it out all by herself, and has found it very helpful and also fun. I thought I would have to "assign" her playing time for the practice, but she chooses it on her own.
