Bounty Hounds

The Armchair Empire
11 March 2010
  • Conclusion: These conflicts will be presented in a fairly traditional 3D action game setting. Players will have about 500 different types of weapons and armor at their disposal, as they fight 40 different types of aliens over the course of 40 missions set on 4 different worlds. In order to acquire all of the different weapons in the game, players can either buy them between missions or sometimes find them as enemies drop them during play.

Bounty Hounds – Review

GameCritics.com

  • Excerpt: The PSP has seen some choice releases lately, and this sudden burst of quality has been a welcome respite from what felt like an eternity of nothing to get excited over. Tekken, Valkyrie Profile, and LocoRoco are all fine titles that PSP owners can be proud of, and Bandai Namco's Bounty Hounds seemed well-suited to join their ranks… but don't let appearances deceive.

  • Excerpt: In Bounty Hounds for PlayStation Portable (PSP), Earth is way over-populated but four habitable planets have been discovered upon which to unload surplus people. Small problem: said planets are infested with aliens. It's always something, isn't it?

Bounty Hounds Review

GameSpot

  • Excerpt: You could almost call it Dynasty Warriors in space, but that would be selling Bounty Hounds, the latest action game from Namco Bandai Games, a little bit short. While the game does rely heavily on a shallow hack-and-slash action design, the simplicity of the combat belies an enjoyable and relatively deep character development system. That, combined with the game's slick presentation, makes Bounty Hounds more than just another mediocre take on a tired formula.
  • Pros: Great sense of style, Nice-looking environments, creatures, and characters, Tons of items to collect and equip to customize your character
  • Cons: Aggravating camera makes it difficult to get a clear view of your enemies, The bulk of the gameplay is shallow and repetitive
