Review: B-Boy (Sony PSP)

Diehard GameFAN
10 October 2008
  • Excerpt: Here we have young men and women who all wear hats turned sideways, graffiti adorned t-shirts, and pants with one leg rolled up. Sure it looks silly, but some of the things these people can do on a dance floor is flat out incredible.

B-Boy – PSP

  • Conclusion: To execute many of the moves, you need to keep in time with the music, so straight off you’ll have to play using headphones or you just can’t hear the beat. But, as with many rhythm games, there are visual cues and in B-Boy your cues are the little segments that spin around your dancer.

  • Conclusion: I’m sure it will strike a certain chord with “real” B-Boys and Girls out there, but from a gamers perspective it lacks any real substance, or reasons to come back and play again and again.
  • Pros: Artwork, Style, Soundtrack, Character animations
  • Cons: Repetitititititititive gameplay, Pressing ‘x’ to the beat, No depth

B-Boy (PSP)

9 December 2007
  • Conclusion: To be honest although the gameplay in B-Boy is pretty shallow and unoriginal that’s what most people look for in a quick play arcade game, which is essentially what the PSP is for.
  • Pros: Cool Soundtrack, Stylish, Makes you look ‘down with the kids’
  • Cons: Gameplay gets stale fast, Not enough moves available at the start, No reason to keep playing

B-Boy - PSP

29 October 2006
  • Summary: B-Boy is a decent game. There are no major flaws, but it’s not amazing either. I’ve already said it several times, but the game really suffers because of those load times.

B-Boy Review

18 October 2006
  • Conclusion: Ranting about music? Well, I'm passionate about it, as I am about games. And I suspect anyone reading this far is as well. The B-Boy soundtrack is good, but it's not enough. It's like the Beatmasters and Betty Boo sang, "I can't dance to the music you're playing".

4 October 2006
  • Conclusion: Despite some pacing and loading issues, this is a game with a good, solid and inventive soul that offers a unique and enjoyable take on rhythm gaming for the persevering gamer.
