Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos

Playstation Illustrated
16 July 2007
  • Excerpt: Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos is a great comeback for the series. The first entry, which appeared on the PSP last year, was a slow, clumsy and confusing experience. Taking the criticism to heart, Idea Factory went back and retooled the gameplay, promoting a terrible experience to a good one. Visually, Aedis Eclipse looks a lot like Generation of Chaos which, truth be told, was the best thing about last year's game.

Generation of Chaos

Just RPG
10 July 2007
  • Excerpt: Generation of Chaos is a real-time strategy RPG developed by Idea Factory, and the first title to be published by NIS America for the PSP. Released in late February of 2006, Generation of Chaos is a very unique strategy-RPG that patient hardcore fans of the genre should really enjoy. The only problem is that anyone who is not a fan might have some difficulty getting to the meat of the game.

PSP Review - 'Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos'

WorthPlaying
1 June 2007
  • Summary: Long, long ago, battles were waged with blade and spell. The lush island of Aedis was constantly submerged in bloodshed. Eventually, this hatred and anger gave birth to an entity known as Mugen, which brought an end to all things. Now they call it a fairy tale, a mere child's fantasy.

  • Conclusion: is a solid strat-RPG game that is a must for PSP gamers. While it has several drawbacks in terms of usability, the game play is still very fun. There are many potential hours of game play and it is great for on-the-go-gaming.

Aedis Eclipse: Generation of Chaos

Portable Review
20 April 2007
  • Excerpt: Wow, talk about a turn-around. If anyone recalls, I basically panned the first PSP entry in the GoC Aedis Eclipse AE I said the same thing when I first heard that GoC was getting a sequel... Anywho, moving onto the various storylines, we’ll start with the lowest and work our way up. In the lower world scenario, you take on the role of three students, Quinn, Gon and Keri, who attend a military academy.

Generation of Chaos

Into Liquid Sky
6 January 2007
  • Excerpt: Generation of Chaos for PSP is actually a port of the fourth part of the Japanese strategy series from Idea Factory. Since none of the series has seen the light of day in North America, this PS2 to PSP port, published by NIS America, may seem like a completely new offering. And, that is what may catch some gamers off-guard.
  • Pros: Extremely deep and challenging, Multiple campaigns to take on, More options to build your empire than you may need, 30 vs 30 battles play out in real time
  • Cons: Slow down in battles, Loads often, causing stuttering in voice dialog, Steep learning curve

Generation of Chaos

Project COE
28 February 2006
  • Conclusion: There’s a ton of replay to be had here for those that get past the overly complex interface. As said before, this is a very deep strategy RPG so those that love this genre could fall in love with Generation of Chaos . For the average gamer though, it’s highly doubtful they’ll want to invest too much time into this. It’s a shame really because there’s a lot of fun to be had here.
