Actual Crimes: Jack the Ripper
19 November 2010
Conclusion: Actual Crimes: Jack the Rippers has a solid interesting story if you like the macabre and have always been fascinated by Jack the Ripper. For the most part the gameplay is very simplistic so anyone can pick up this title and start playing. The downfall to this game is the easiness at which you can cheat during rookie mode by just clicking everywhere on the screen without really looking, and the so-so sound design and dull and boring dialogue.
Summary: Actual Crimes: Jack the Ripper is your typical hidden object game with the hook of digging through one of history’s biggest mysteries. Still, the stiff control scheme makes it a hard to sell to people who can get the game for the PC or even for the DSI. If you’re just looking for an amusing way to kill time, this game will fit the bill. Otherwise, you can safely pass it by. If you really want to learn about Jack the Ripper, just read a book or watch a documentary.
