Summary: I fixed this issue by removing the black circular panel around the lens, so that more air could flow through the projector. I also took the whole thing apart and blew it out with a leaf blower to get all the dust out. After doing that it works like a charm, even in regular mode. Previously I could only get it to stay on for about 5-10 minutes even in high-altitude mode.
Summary: Good for the price, could be brighter (you won't really want to use it during the day unless you have a good way to keep the sun out of your room) and certainly gets loud if your room is hot, but pretty great bang for your buck.
Summary: I purchased this projector to use with our trade show booth to project presentations during convention traffic. The picture is crisp and high def - clear and beautiful! The interface is simple and it connects easily to an iPad (with the correct adapter) and laptop. Since this is a side-ventilating projector, it works well if it needs to be close to something. The original projector shut off when it was up against our booth fabric. I highly recommend this projector!
Summary: This projector incorporates everything you could need in a projector to keep it fully connected to your theater or man cave. It has every connector you could need to hook up to it along with built in speakers and an audio out port. It gives you the versatility to hook all types of medias up to it and put it practically anywhere in a room and provide a full HD experience.
Summary: I'm into big screen game since 2010. I own this as soon as it was available into consumer electronic market in 2010 at that time i paid $1k. Well its Full 1080p HD. It has got Stunning Video Quality, projects Crystal clear Blue-ray videos experienced till 120" on white wall(dunn want to spend another 300 buks for Elite screen). But got only 2,000 hours. You will not regret paying $1 for 5 hours of eye catching videos quality(new bulb ~$400 gives 2000 hours).
Summary: What an amazing item at such a low price! The Vivitek is bright even during daylight and the fact it's a full HD projector for under $700 is absolutely gold. The unit is bright and has the usual expected features: manual zoom and focus and the options to have the menu appear wherever you want or upside down for ceiling mount is... "brilliant" (pun intended)! It's hard to go wrong with a projector at this price point. You won't be disappointed.
Summary: I have been using this projector for regular tv use for the past three weeks. Have the picture projected on an off white wall, picture is good with in direct sun light entering the room, but scenes that are dark are alittle harder to see. Plan on putting up a projector screen and i will update this review when that is done.
Summary: Personal Experience I only had this projector a short while, but I was really happy with the image quality. For the price I paid I was astounded. The picture was super sharp and I also liked the high brightness. Overall a huge improvement over the Sanyo Z2 it replaced. In the end I chose to return it in favor of an LCD because the rainbow effect was bothersome at the 3x color wheel speed in this projector.
Summary: In summary, I've owned this projector for about a month, and my thoughts so far are that this projector is fantastic; I can't think of much I don't like about it. I'm going to touch on a few aspects I feel might be useful for people in making their decisions. First, my setup. This is my first projector. I have this projector in my living room which has quite a bit of ambient light.
