there are much better projectors for the money made by BenQ and Optoma
Westley E. Nunn "Semi-Pro DJ", Amazon
2 May 2015
Summary: Owned this for 2+ years. Had to be sent back for repair (under warranty - last I checked these DO have a very long warranty) three times in that period. When the lamp eventually went out, it exploded in the projector (I do mean exploded) which was unexpected to say the least.
Summary: This projector was great - picture, clarity, color - until about the 11-month mark when the bulb exploded while in use. I contacted ViewSonic and arranged for warranty repair, although I had to pay to ship it back to them.
Excerpt: Havent had this projector for long, but so far I like everything about it. I only use the projection feature. Audio is played through my Bose Adapt-iq Surround Sound system.. The projector delivers bright sharp colors and we truly enjoy it.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Interfaces Well With TV, Intuitive Controls, Thundering Bass
Okay projector. DLP technology just not right for me

Summary: I've never owned a projector before but with prices so low for such high resolution i figured why not. I have a nice big wall in my living room just waiting to be projected on. This projector was okay. It was fairly small and portable and that was nice.
Summary: After getting this projector I noticed that all the dark scenes lacked detail. I tried tweaking all the settings after getting advice from AVSforum.com. The interesting thing was that if I played a movie from my computer or from an old DVD player then the shadow detail was there.
Excerpt: I purchased this projector to replace a Mitsubishi HD1000 projector after its color wheel kicked the bucket. Out of the box, I was very impressed with the brightness of the Pro8200. However, as typical with most projectors, it needed some calibrating with the brightness, contrast and color balance.
careful about the throw ratio (can't use too close to the projection screen)
3 December 2012
Summary: The projection is mostly fine, but the throw ratio turned out to be a big problem. I had already studied the throw ratio and according to those calculations, I should have been able to get a large image with the limited distance from the projection wall in my room.
Summary: This is a great projector for the money. 1080p and super bright when you need it to be. Bulb life is also great. I have put almost 1500 hours on it, and it hasn't even started to dim. Be warned that even though it has a three year warranty, their warranty service is horrible.
Summary: After two months of use, I feel I did not make a good choice. Horizontal movements are not smooth at all. It hurts the eyes, especially when watching sports programs and action movies. After buying, I found that it is a 24 frames per second projector instead of a 60fps one.
Summary: Personal Experience Where to begin.........I just finished trading this unit in for another manufacturer's projector that actually works as intended. Rather than run out of room here I suggest you check out AVS Forum site for the MANY owner's problems with this model and with Viewsonic.
