Okay projector. DLP technology just not right for me

Summary: I've never owned a projector before but with prices so low for such high resolution i figured why not. I have a nice big wall in my living room just waiting to be projected on. This projector was okay. It was fairly small and portable and that was nice. It came with a little carrying bag which is cool. I doubt i'd use it. but nice to have if i ever wanted to take this on the road or to a friends house for a movie. Nevertheless, a bag is not why someone buys a projector.
Summary: After getting this projector I noticed that all the dark scenes lacked detail. I tried tweaking all the settings after getting advice from AVSforum.com. The interesting thing was that if I played a movie from my computer or from an old DVD player then the shadow detail was there. But if I used my LG BD550 blue ray player then the shadow detail was missing. But the LG worked fine with my previous projector.
careful about the throw ratio (can't use too close to the projection screen)

Summary: The projection is mostly fine, but the throw ratio turned out to be a big problem. I had already studied the throw ratio and according to those calculations, I should have been able to get a large image with the limited distance from the projection wall in my room. But in reality, the image size turned out to be smaller. I could get larger image, but I'd have to knock down the back wall of my room to give the device more distance from the projection wall.
Summary: This is a great projector for the money. 1080p and super bright when you need it to be. Bulb life is also great. I have put almost 1500 hours on it, and it hasn't even started to dim. Be warned that even though it has a three year warranty, their warranty service is horrible. I understand that there can be lemons, and things happen, but I have had to send the projector back twice.
Summary: After two months of use, I feel I did not make a good choice. Horizontal movements are not smooth at all. It hurts the eyes, especially when watching sports programs and action movies. After buying, I found that it is a 24 frames per second projector instead of a 60fps one. Eco mode must be set every time you turn the projector on.
Summary: Personal Experience Where to begin.........I just finished trading this unit in for another manufacturer's projector that actually works as intended. Rather than run out of room here I suggest you check out AVS Forum site for the MANY owner's problems with this model and with Viewsonic. Problems See AVS forum for a more complete list of problems with this unit. I would just run out of room here........
