Summary: Personal Experience Very light portable LED projector and good looking. Instant turn on/off without worry about lamp damage. Could be mounted on tripod. Unfortunately its menu is unintuitive and looks like from MS DOS era. Diamond shape pixels make plain text blurred so it's unsuitable for using as PC screen. I used it as a cheap home theater projector. 500 lumens is sufficient to watch movies at 130' size on wall in total darkness.
Summary: I bought it for displaying slides at a tradeshow. It is very small and light and that works quite well for travel. In use, it was bright enough and projected a good picture. I was particularly interested in being able to project slides without the need of a laptop and this little projector will do it. It has the ability to project images and "office" files. The images worked well, but I didn't have any direct control over the "order" in which the images would appear.
Summary: I mounted this small projector on a ceiling and I'm getting a 100 inch image. The performance is very good and maybe a little bit noisy the fan. I was expecting a little bit more light power but is enough for my needs, I don't know why they don't make a 1000 ANSI led even if they have to increase the device size. The menu (icons) for the memory and USB features seems o be like Atari graphics but it works OK. I recommend this small toy.
A tiny, no compromise projector that performs like the big boys!

Summary: I've been looking for a compact, travel projector that renders color and B&W photographs accurately and the PLED-W500 fits the bill. It renders an image on par with my much larger Epson projector with a surprisingly bright image (in small group venues) for such a tiny package. It has adequate color, contrast and brightness controls but unfortunately lacks a zoom lens which is a minor issue. Periodic offers from Tiger Direct made this projector a decent deal.
Summary: Loved the projector,Gives excellent picture quality.Good thing about it is built in speakers.Only bad thing about it was,the first unit quit working after one week of use.I had to send it back, but second one is working perfect, without any problem.
Very happy with it. Great for movies and video games.

Summary: This little projector is great. I bought it because I wanted a big screen without a bulky, ugly and tacky 80 inch tv in my apartment. Pros: -small unit. Got rid of my ugly, bulky, and tacky TV set. -95 inches for $399 (new). -HD picture -I will never have to replace the bulb, unlike standard projectors -fan is not noisy . In comparison, my old xbox360 (the first models) is much much noisier. I want to be clear about that: fan noise on this projector is NOT an issue.
Summary: I'm new to owning a projector, but working with several from my company (professional ones) and my church, including 2000 Lumens LED projector from other brand, I've seen enough projectors. I didn't expect much from Viewsonic PLED-W500, because it supposed to have lower lumens than one that I work with at church (2000 Lumens costing 3x of this Viewsonic one).
Summary: I bought this projector specifically because it was LED. My previous projector cost me 3x as much with 2700 Lumen and around 4,000 hours of bulb life. I was very interested in the 20,000 hours of bulb life claimed for this projector. Due to the 500 lumen spec'd for this projector I was fully prepared (and was expecting) to return it if the projected image was not bright enough. BUT... To my surprise, the picture is fairly bright.
