Summary: Amazing lens. Throws a 12'wide HD pix from six feet away. Exactly what the specs said it would do, but impressive none the less. Looks uniformly bright. After years of using a native 4x3 format projector set to do wide screen (less pixels active), my first application for this wide screen unit was...

Summary: The main selling point of the Viewsonic PJD7583wi is it's able to project a 90-inch (measured diagonally) image from only 3 feet away. From 3 feet away, this projector is able to project an image that fills the entire width of my 70-by-70-inch .
DO NOT BUY FOR THE USB SLIDESHOW FEATURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: This projector seems to be of high quality. BUT if you plan to use the USB slideshow feature DO NOT BUY IT!!!!! I bought it for this reason to use in a trade show booth. But the images take 15 or so seconds each to load.
Summary: I tour in a theater group with this for the backdrop, and at first carried it as a backup if the house theater didn't have one. But up against a clean white scrim, this is bigger and brighter than most 6K lumen Panasonic or Eiki.
Summary: finally I got a hold of a manager in the repair department, he understood my delima (Thanks Ed). he found a way to get me a replacement projector from the sales department. it made my opinion of viewsonic a little better.
Pros: Very Short Throw
Cons: mentioned above, also your computer needs to do 1280X800 to get full use of the projected image. Most old XP computers can't do that res since it was not standard back then. if you have 1280X768 or whatever else, you lose a portion of your projected image.
Summary: I bought this brand new from newegg. tested it when I got it, worked fine. Since I was keeping it, I cut out the UPC from the box and sent it to viewsonic to get the promotional free lamp.
Pros: VERY short throw. decent light
Cons: horrible company. didn't work in upside position. they can't send me a new one. they can't give me a status update and they can't tell me when it will be done. I am out $1500 for projector and ARM and my project is on hold for weeks becuase of bad client support policy. DO NOT PURCHASE VIEWSONIC....
Summary: Almost 10 days in to school and I have used my projector every day for all blocks. The picture is amazing - short throw projection is a HUGE space saver in my small classroom (packed with 30+ students!
Summary: This projector did more than what I expected. The picture is great for the size of screen. I bought the epson 80" Screen that is really nice coupled with this projector. Measureing placement at 2' 8" for perfect distance.
