Wide when you need it.

DarthFader, Amazon

  • Summary: Amazing lens. Throws a 12'wide HD pix from six feet away. Exactly what the specs said it would do, but impressive none the less. Looks uniformly bright. After years of using a native 4x3 format projector set to do wide screen (less pixels active), my first application for this wide screen unit was set for 4:3 mode. Even though this again uses fewer pixels than its native mode it still looked very good. Subsequent jobs in wide screen mode have been flawless.

High Quality Projection But No HDMI Or DVI Video Connection Options (Only VGA, Component-Video, and S-Video)

Avid Reviewer "A Music Fan", Amazon

  • Summary: The main selling point of the Viewsonic PJD7583wi is it's able to project a 90-inch (measured diagonally) image from only 3 feet away. From 3 feet away, this projector is able to project an image that fills the entire width of my 70-by-70-inch Da-Lite projection Screen . Its 0.5:1 projection ratio is the shortest throw distance (that I'm aware of) for a projector in this price range.

DO NOT BUY FOR THE USB SLIDESHOW FEATURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Vincent C. Stormes "see you in the game...", Amazon
28 October 2012
  • Summary: This projector seems to be of high quality. BUT if you plan to use the USB slideshow feature DO NOT BUY IT!!!!! I bought it for this reason to use in a trade show booth. But the images take 15 or so seconds each to load. They appear in horizontal bars from the top to the bottom of the screen, sort of like how web pages load on a dial up ISP. TOTALLY unacceptable for a slide show.ViewsSonic did an RMA on my NEW unit and found that it was operating as designed.

Best short throw under $10K

Seeker Truth, Amazon
3 September 2012
  • Summary: I tour in a theater group with this for the backdrop, and at first carried it as a backup if the house theater didn't have one. But up against a clean white scrim, this is bigger and brighter than most 6K lumen Panasonic or Eiki. We've filled 30 FOOT diameter cycloramas with this, and as long as the lighting director keeps spill off the screen, it looks great.

Great short throw projector

Jennifer K Lingle, Amazon
1 September 2011
  • Summary: Almost 10 days in to school and I have used my projector every day for all blocks. The picture is amazing - short throw projection is a HUGE space saver in my small classroom (packed with 30+ students!) I've struggled with downloading the software - yet another glitch of having Vista as an operating system...but even still, it's quiet, doesn't blow out burning hot air and my students all the way in the back can see clear as a bell.

Very Nice Projector For Most Uses

P. Haines, Amazon
5 January 2011
  • Summary: This projector did more than what I expected. The picture is great for the size of screen. I bought the epson 80" Screen that is really nice coupled with this projector. Measureing placement at 2' 8" for perfect distance. Also I purchased a projector stand witht his unit that is match with this screen. Even after all lights were on in the room the picture was still clear and absolutly no wash.
