Summary: Personal Experience Brought this for the basement and the big wall down there. After 3000 + hours, thing is still running strong. Runs fairly cool for a bulb projector. Problems The blue light on the power button is bright..Put some electrical tape over it. Could use a tripod port on the bottom for putting it on tripod.
Summary: Personal Experience I have owned this projector now for around 1 year. The projector is rock solid. Great image from the shortest distance of any projector Ive seen out there. Excellent color wheel. The other review on this sight is negative. It was reported that seven died on that individual. I had previously purchased a dell projector that arrived with dead pixels because the shipper did not package the unit correctly.
Summary: Personal Experience I was involved with purchasing 8 of these for my daughter's school. The initial installation and setup was simple and initial quality was excellent. With less than 400 lamp hours 3 of them started showing significant dead pixels (150+) and another wouldn't start anymore. Viewsonic was good about fixing them, but the process took over 3 weeks and cost me $380 to ship them in for repair.
Summary: its common for regular bulb projectors produce to produce a 200-300" image. However regular a projector has to be at least 30-35 feet from the wall or screen to do this. With this distance, not only do you have to worry about furniture, but people walking in front of the projected image, casting a large shadow and disrupting movies or presentations.
