Summary: This is definitely a great projector for the asking price. The unit is rather small and that's an issue when it comes to sound quality. But if you're going to be spending this much on a projector, you can invest a few hundred into some speakers or a minor surround sound unit. Additional speakers make a huge difference would be my recommendation. Quality wise, the projector works beautifully if you've got enough space for it.
Summary: This is my second Viewsonic projector. It is an upgrade to my current ViewSonic PJD5123 SVGA DLP Projector 120Hz/3D Ready, 2700 Lumens, 3000:1 DCR . Viewsonic makes great light-weight, high-lumen, multi-use (office & Home), affordable projectors. The PJD6235 is a 1024 x 768 XGA projector - which means that its native format is 4:3. It falls a little short of 16:9 720 HD (1280 X 720) resolution. What does this mean?
Summary: I really like this projector. I put it on a wall shelf in my bedroom and watch TV shows and movies on it. The picture is really clear and crisp and way better than the projectors they use at my college. Setting it up is really easy, too. I don't have cable and run everything through a media server. The projector can be hooked up with an HDMI cord from the server itself, or you can use the Ethernet jack and run it off your network.
Summary: I haven't even begun to explore everything I could do with this projector. I'll just start out by saying that I love it! However, I do have to agree with the previous reviewer that the sound doesn't go up high enough for me to hear it well. Being old and half deaf doesn't help, so, I will be ordering some external speakers to go with it. Easy to set up and use. I love playing video games and boy is it fun to play on the big screen!
Summary: Extremely simple to hook up to with an HDMI cable and my Roku 3 Streaming Media Player streaming box. It's the clearest, largest viewing screen I ever thought was possible without spending thousands on a theater sized TV screen. My main complaint is its sound output. The only way we were able to get more than what most would consider "low to med" sound was to hook up external speakers like these.
Excerpt: Used in a worship facility mounted from the ceiling. The color on this projector is awsome. But there are not enough settings that are accessible in the menu. This is a replacement for a 2006 model view sonic that served us very well. The main problem is we are not able to get the picture large enough without moving the ceiling mount back which is not an easy process. Next time I would order one with better zoom functions.
Pros: Quality Construction, Quiet, Small Footprint
Summary: Great projector for the price with excellent brightness. It can be seen well in a sunlit, or well lighted, room. Easy to use, even for a non-tech person like my dad. The only drawback that I noticed was that it didn't have a lens cap, this is not a problem under most circumstances but would be nice when transporting or storing the projector. I would definitely buy this projector again.
