Summary: The price was good (about $330) for this refurb projector. I wanted to make a cheap home theater by projecting it on my wall from my computer/dvd player. After watching movies couple of days, I started having headache and light-headedness and that wouldn't go away. Every time I watched it, I started to have an immediate headache. I returned the item immediately. Now I am wearing a glass, otherwise it would give me headache.
Summary: The PJ556D is a compact, but robust DLP projector at a very attractive price. It has a good specification, and though it is usually not recommended for movies (every review I read prior to purchase noted it is meant for presentation and not movies), me and my friends first tested it on soccer game and we enjoyed it (though we might be a bit blinded by beer :) Anyway I highly recommend if you are on low budget for presentations and occasional movie/soccer night.
Summary: Personal Experience Excellent. Fan is a little loud when Eco mode is off or High altitude(ceiling)modes are used. Other than that it's great. Very bright, clear and clean image. Amazing value for money when purchased new for $800 NZ Problems Never use compressed air to clean projectors or you'll end up having to send it to get the DLP chip and/or the lens tunnel cleaned of dust (appears as bright spots) as I found out the hard way. Lesson learned.
