Summary: Personal Experience I picked this up as a package deal with ceiling mount and 80" 4x3 Elite pulldown screen from (dealer ommited) for about $600. It's an adequate unit for what it does and doesn't have any frills, but the price was great allowing me to enter the projector world.
Summary: ****I bought this projector to use with a new laptop that has Windows Vista as the operating system and thought at first that it didn't have any drivers compatible with Vista. Well, I found out that I don't need drivers, regardless of what the installation software says "driver for this monitor not...
Pros: Can't beat the price, got 'free' ceiling mount & 80" screen w/ purchase. Works better than expected in semi-light rooms. Purchased a transcoder to take advantage of VGA connection. great deal, cant beat the price
Cons: only svga, not xga. auto-source feature drops connection momentarily when enabled and changing games on my xbox
Summary: little blinking standby light is annoying, but is easily fixed by a post-it note, will really heat up your room but that can't be stopped.
Pros: very quiet, very bright, i had no trouble using it in the middle of the day with the blinds closed and lights off. Contrast is amazing, quality is amazing. Easy to set up, just plug it in, and hook up the cables. the remote has a laser pointer, useless for me, but cool nonetheless
Cons: the case is kinda not as padded as it could be, but it will do its job. had a small problem connecting it to my vista pc, but rebooted fixed it. other then those small things, no major problems what so ever.
Summary: The resolution is 800x600, which is fine for me. DVDs look fantastic. You can connect a higher resolution video source and the projector will automatically scale it. It's hard to beat the price for this quality of projector.
Pros: Great price, works wonderfully. I'm using it right now to write this review! Display is clear and bright, automatically detects video source, cooling fan is nice n' quiet. Great value for the money. I can't wait to watch more movies on it.
Cons: Replacement light bulb (est. max life of 2000 hours) is around $250. So hopefully I won't be needing one anytime soon.
