a decent projector... the dlp color separation is a little annoying
18 February 2013
Summary: i've had this for over 5 years and so far no build burnout. but i'm super careful with making sure to not move the projector while it's beaming, not to unplug the projector before the fan has finished cooling it off(after you turn the power off), and not leaving it running when it's not really being used. so far so good.
Summary: Personal Experience I was looking for a very inexpensive projector to use in the basement for kids to watch videos. I found this one on Ebay, it was brand new in unopened box. I been using it now for several week after Christmas and I couldn't be more pleased. The image is very bright and clear. In fact, the image quality is still very high even with light shining into room.
The PJ503D has a contrast that overcomes light in a very smart package.

Summary: The image on the PJ503D is one of the clearest images you can get in a well priced projector. It holds it's own against any projector on the market. Hook it to your computer in seconds and to another video source and you will see a crisp image often better than the signal itself. It could use a manual zoom for easier placement but you make that up in portability. Hands down this is a quiet and simple projector to set up.
Summary: I teach small classes of adults at a couple different centers and this projector certainly fits my needs. It is easy to use and I love the various settings I use, as well as the finer adjustments I can make. The color projection is fairly good, but this is the same for some more expensive projectors I've used. It is light-weight and easy to carry - something a traveling teacher needs.
Summary: I got this to replace an old ancient review and I am glad I did. The picture is nice and clear and the projection is quite bright. the only downsides are that there is no zoom and it is not HD but great for the price. I recommend the buy.
Summary: A great projector for conference room or classroom. I did not buy it for a projection TV system, so cannot comment on it's performance in that function. It is easy to set up and quick to start. Since it doesn't have a zoom feature, you have to change the distance to the screen to get the right display size, but with the performance and price, it is a great value.
Summary: I'm a math teacher. I use this projector in my classroom every day, for about 3-4 hours per day. It has withstood classroom use for (so far) one month with absolutely no problems. I keep the projector about 15 feet from the screen (i use a bedsheet nailed above the blackboard so i can have a larger screen that everyone can see easily without having to duck or try to look over other students' heads).
