The PJ503D is an entry-level video projector from ViewSonic using DLP display technology. The lightweight projector measures approximately 10.35 x 4.25 x 8.6 inches (W x H x D) and weighs only 5.6 pounds. It is available in a black color and comes with a single VGA cable, a wireless remote control and a lens cap.

The ViewSonic PJ503D has a throw distance of 60 inches to 236 inches and, with a throw ratio of roughly 2:1, users can expect projection image sizes of 38 inches to as large as 150 inches. The projector outputs pictures at a native resolution of 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA) and a 4:3 aspect ratio. In addition to the SVGA native resolution, the PJ503D also supports 720p and 1080i video signals at an aspect ratio of 16:9.

The projector’s 160 watt lamp is estimated to last 2000 hours in Normal mode and up to 3000 hours on Whisper mode. The lamp gives the PJ503D a brightness level of 1500 ANSI lumens and a typical contrast ratio of 2000:1.

The PJ503D offers the following video input options: a standard VGA port, component video, composite video and S-Video. It supports NTSC M, NTSC 4.43, PAL, SECAM, and HDTV (480i, 480p, 576i, 576p, 720p, 1080i) video signals.

The projector also has a 8-pin mini-Din for RS232 port for use with compatible control devices.

Additional features of the PJ503D include digital keystone correction (+/- 7 degrees vertical), Advanced Image Processing and a motion adaptive de-interlacer.

    This is my first personal projector. I have used many projector before at work which are all expensive and high end machines. This one is a good low end projector and hence I do not complain a whole lot about the zoom absence in this model. For <$499, this is a great value for money.     damn good projector, bought it in january & its still working with the original bulb, but sadly the bulb already has over 2500 hour on it....that speaks for itself. (Time to buy another bulb) Read more
