Very good experience with this product and seller.

Summary: Very pleased with the purchase. The projector works well exactly as stated. It is very light, compared to the previous projector I have been using. The lamp does not burn as hot as some models, but the illumination produced is fine. I would highly recommend this model to everyone.
Summary: I loved my viewsonic PJ458D. I loved it until I had it about a month and the red light began blinking notating overheating. I sent it in and 3 months passed while the warranty and repair tried to work out the issues. During this time, I spent hours on hold and got nowhere with any information; basically I was told nobody knew anything. Finnally, they sent me a replacement. 3 months passed and the same issue has again occurred again.
What a mess - worst customer service I have ever experienced

Summary: It worked for 15 minutes. Let it cool -worked 10 minutes. Let it cool several days-ran for a few minutes. Called ViewSonic May 5. It has been an ongoing mess since them. It is now August 28th. Without my approval they sent me twice the wrong model. Once they sent the right model, but it worked for 15 minutes. All the products are refurbished units. They have promised me this and that. I have been escalated. "It's in the mail" to death..
Summary: Personal Experience This projector is very bright, enough for daytime use. Color is not accurate, but most people cannot tell. There's the rainbow effect, but most people cannot tell. Beside after a week, it'll disappear (you get use to it). Great black levels. Accepts component video via component-to-vga cable. Excellent bang for the buck! Problems A lot of motion blur. And lamp died after 1900 hours in eco-mode.

Summary: This is my first projector, I got it about a year ago and the way I have it setup is what you could consider "home cinema". I have a media PC hooked up to it via VGA (15 pin DSub) and a Playstation 2 hooked up via S-Video. The VGA setup comes out very crisp, for HD videos as well as HDTV. We had a superbowl party and everyone was quite impressed. The S-Video is decent, but nothing special - it's certainly better than using the yellow RCA jack.
Worked great until it didn't anymore....not-so-great service

Summary: This was my first projector. I was very happy with it until one day, with no warning, it stopped working. I would turn it on, and within 5 seconds it would indicate the temp was too high and shut itself off. I contacted Viewsonic to arrange a warranty repair. Their webpage said they'd send me a unit within 48 hours. Their phone support said no units were available, I'd have to wait up to 15 days for mine to be repaired. They received mine on the 2nd.
Summary: Personal Experience This was my first foray into projectors. I bought it to replace my TV. Nightime viewing is great. Daytime ambient light completely overwhelms the picture (even with the blinds closed). It's a great size for taking on the road for presentations. Problems After about 800 of use, the temp sensor malfunctioned and the projector stopped working. Viewsonic is replacing it under warranty. The On/Off requires that you press the button twice.
Summary: Personal Experience Just bought this projector to replace my Epson Powerlite Home 20. I use it mostly to play video games from my PC. Forget it, this projector doesn't have 2000:1 contrast. Colors are poor and fade, lamp life is not really good, i had the choice between 2 and one with 1500 hours had the lamp with very low brightness. The resolution is there, the lens are good, focus is very sharp.
