Summary: Personal Experience Watch out,,Big burn problem here. I suggest you have a long warranty, otherwise you'll be stuck with a green picture down the road. Problems Not bright enough, heat related issues.
Summary: Personal Experience I got this projector to project images for a music performance I do, and it's perfect for that. It's extremely bright, light and small, and the price is good. For home theatre, it's not ideal (too little contrast, and too much screen door effect) but with some tweaking movies still look nice. And video games look great.
Summary: Personal Experience LAMP POPPED AT LESS THAN 300 HOURS I bought this 4 months ago and was impressed and believed it to be a good deal-until today. with 287 hours on the lamp it went out with a loud pop. If best buy honors their service agreement (they sold with the promise that lamps are included)then I didnt get too bad of a deal, but if 300 hours is typical of the lamps, then there is no way i can reccomend this projector Problems lamp popped at less than 300 hours
Summary: Personal Experience I think this might have been an excellent choice a year ago, but I bought this unit at Best Buy and I wasn't that impressed with it. On the good side the picture is bright, but the colors to my eye are not accurate and overall the impression is of a very "video-like" image. Playing a movie on it looked like watching a very blown-up picture on a mediocre television set --- rather harsh and lacking in smoothness and detail.
Summary: Personal Experience This projector is great. The unit is low cost, but has loads of features. Toshiba didn't skimp on performance. Images are bright and crisp, and the overall noise is very low.
Summary: Personal Experience For the money, it cannot be beat, I'm running it on an 8' screen (Flat white DA-LITE) and it is sometimes so bright I have to squint. Bravo to Toshiba! Crisp and detailed. Problems Considering price, None. Wish it had component video input for my DVD and the aftermarket needs to WAKE UP and put out a nice ceiling mount for cheap $$$, Toshiba gouges $250-$299, Stupid for a $1,099 projector.
Summary: Personal Experience I spent 2 months trying to get the most projector for my money. I own a small consulting firm and budgets are tight, but the presentations have to be great. The Toshiba TLP-S30 gave us all we expected and more. I can't believe it is so bright and good quality for the price. We searched the web and ended up paying $1,299 for the unit. I think it is the best value in the market today! Problems None, easy to setup.
