Summary: Personal Experience I am very pleased with the Toshiba MT500. I'm projecting on a 92" white screen with my Denon 2910 dvd and the picture quality is amazing. I definately would recommend this projector.. Problems No!!
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this projector for it's "true 16:9" aspect ratio and the 5 speed clour wheel to project onto my white living room wall, replacing my much-loved PTAE 100. I'd read about the toshiba's 4:3 chip used to display a 16:9 image and assumed that the "deactivated" pixels would be dead. Turned off. Masked. This isn't the case. They display black and still allow light to pass through causing grey bars top and bottom of the image.
Summary: Personal Experience I HAVE THE MT500 FOR ABOUT A MONTH AND I AM VERY PLEASED.THE PICTURE QUALITY via HDMI-DVI CONECTION FROM MY PIONEER DVD IS OUTSTANDING,LIKE A GIANT PLASMA OR EVEN BETTER.SO,IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR HOME THEATRE PROJECTOR AND YOU HAVE LIGHT CONTROLED ROOM,THE MT500 IS ONE TO CONSIDER. Problems NONE YET.
Summary: Personal Experience Im projecting on a 106" widescreen and getting a superb picture with very natural colors. Easy setup thats more or less plug and play out of the box. Getting cheaper nowadays and is a real value if your looking for a high resolution DLP. Needs some installment due to lack of lens-shift. Problems Is a little bit noisy but acceptable. Produces some heat so spacing should be in mind. Greatest disadvantage is lack of lens shift.
Summary: Personal Experience I was confused comparing projectors so I decided to buy Benq 7220 (lumence 2500, contrast 2000:1, 1024X768) By accident I bought Toshiba MT500 (lumence 700, contrast 2000:1, 1024X576) This projector is perfect. Everyone who come and see stays amazed.
Summary: Personal Experience I originally ordered the hitachi pjt-x100 but since it took about a month for the hitachi to arrive, the store from which i bought gave me the toshiba's tdp mt500 for a "meanwhile use". the projector is realy easy to use and you don't get messed up with the setup menus while installing it. The image quality is nice but at this price I've seen much better.
Summary: Personal Experience The projector is ceiling mounted approx. 12' back projecting on a 110" 16:9.The source units are a Integra 8.4 DVD player and HD Charter Cable through a Motorola converter box both are hooked up through Component Monster 2 video Cables. The unit in my opinion has a picture quality that rivals most plasma TVs. The colors are amazing and there is no visible “rainbow affect that my wife or I can detect.
Summary: Personal Experience I have a 106" diagnol screen and the toshiba puts out and image quality that is comparable to a plasma. The ease of use is considerable and the value for the money is perfect.
