more costly, but worth it for the beautiful picture and ease of use

Summary: After researching, I elected to buy this monster rather than newer and cheaper models. If Sony had an original MSRP on it of some $8,000, I figured there must be a reason. There is. It is built like the proverbial XXXX (you choose your own term), weighing in at about 26 pounds. It is designed for the sophisticated pro installer as well as the amateur, so it has motorized and electronic remote adjustments galore. (It would be hard to reach upside down on a high ceiling.
Summary: Personal Experience Great Projector out of the box, great color, and imaging Blu-Rays looked stunning and even DirecTV looked good. Very easy to calibrate and tweak. I did however have a ISF tech still calibrate it and he stated it was good but there were still some things a tad off. Convergence which can happen with shipping the unit, but a very easy fix. Problems Slight Chroma bug when adjusting the panels. Otherwise dead on colors and detail.
