So as far as the mass-market Japanese manufacturers are concerned, Sony now has something that can compete on level terms with JVC's highly-regarded D-ILA models. SXRD technology may still be ploughing a lonely furrow, but it's definitely heading in the right direction. It gives the Award-winning Marantz VP-15S1 a run for its money, and for around £2,000 less... Read more

  2. Sony VPL-VW60 SXRD Video Projector

With its current lineup of projectors, Sony is clearly in this game to win. And while the competition has become tighter since Sony introduced the original Pearl, the introduction of the Black Pearl keeps them squarely in the running. There are lots of options out there, but if you choose this one, you won't be disappointed. The VPL-VW60 is a superb projector. Read more

's various picture presets, Cinema delivered the most accurate color reproduction when Low color temperature was also selected. Grayscale tracking was ±1,026 degrees kelvin of the 6,500-K standard from 20 to 100 IRE — a poor performance level. Adjustments made to the red, green, and blue gain and bias controls in the Custom color-temperature submenu improved grayscale tracking to ±147 degrees K from 30 to 100 IRE, although the dark 20-IRE window still showed a signifi... 4. Sony VPL-VW60 Home Theater Projector Review: Overview

Then, kick back and enjoy the Sony VW60. It will probably be the last projector you own for quite some time. If I had a smaller screen, say 100" diagonal, I could be most happy with this Sony. Enjoy! Read more

I had a Sony VPL-HS51 for three years, replaced the lamp twice and no problems. Even though the HS51 is only 720p, it is an excellent starter projector for home theater. But like most home theater owners, I was looking to upgrade to 1080p. Since the HS51 worked so well, I decided to stay with a Sony. The VW200 seems to be Sony's top of the line, but this was out of my price range. Local demos of the VW60 showed excellent the color, sharpness and advanced features. The... Read more

"This is the best projector out there for the price. Don't waste your money on the $15,000 sony. You won't be able to tell the difference in picture. I have this set up in my dedicated theater and everyone is amazed by the picture quality. I have an upconvert DVD and direct tv hooked up to it with an hdmi cable and it looks beautiful. Can't wait to get that blu-ray player going to see it's full potential." Read more
