Summary: The Sony VPLHW30AES has been an excellent performer. The 3D glasses work, though I rarely use them. Once the "new toy" sensation had run its course, I found the most use was for an occasional movie during the summer and football during the winter. It is a durable performer.
Summary: Personal Experience Purchased from BestBuy Magnolia Store on 3/3/13 while it was on sale for $2399. It was listed on there internal website for that price and still may be the case. I have it mounted to the ceiling. My first ceiling mount (8 inch drop) was not low enough to allow for the proper Keystone adjustment. I went to Monoprice and purchased a mount that extends from 16 to 26 inches thinking 16 would be enough...ended up being closer to the 26 side.
Summary: After 30 years, I replaced my Sony KP7220 which was good at finding loose hairs on a person’s head, with the HW30 which is quite good at finding a very large field of neck wrinkles. I purchased the HW30 even though I wanted the HW50 but the discounted cost difference was too high. While the improvements offered by the HW50 over the 30 looked great on paper, looking at the screen in my home they now seem completely unnecessary.

Summary: This is my first Front Projector and I debated on whether to get a 3D model or a 2D model. I'm certainly glad the 3D won the debate. I have had this unit for just over a year now and have not had a minute's trouble with it. I project onto a 120" screen and the picture is perfect in both 2D and 3D mode. It could easily handle even a larger screen. I have even gone to the movies to see a 3D movie and then later purchased the 3D BluRay to compare.
Summary: I have had the projector for about a month now. I purchased it after seeing a demo. I am not really a 3D person, and hate most 3D movies when shown in theaters. Only liked AVATAR in 3D AND IMAX. However, after my experience with this projector at home and the 3D glasses/emitter provided, and am finding I actually like the 3D experience at home now! Purchased an 80 screen with the projector from Sony, and after setting it up, it was nice.
Summary: Personal Experience Excellent picture in a high-quality unit. Trying to get used to frame interpolation. The sony does a great job with FI and is very smooth. This FI picture is much better than without but I am of the older generation and wasn't used to the soap opera effect even though it's a better picture.
Summary: This was the first time I've ever spent a large sum of money on the internet. I had researched this projector, so I new exactly what I wanted, and the information provided on the Amazon website was helpful in that respect. The projector was received in perfect conditon. I had it installed for a modest sum, and it is a fantastic projector. Amazing image quality and extremely quiet. Coupled with a blu-ray DVD player, one has the optimum in home movies.
Summary: I have been thinking of replacing my old Runco DTV1101 for years, but I was afraid to do so, knowing that I should check out the projector in person before committing. So, I finally took a gamble because the price for this Sony projector is right, and the review has been great. I am very happy that I did. This projector has very sharp HD images. It is comparible to other flat screens. It is very bright. The setup is so easy.
Summary: Got this projector this past spring to replace my well-loved but long-in-the-tooth Sony HS20 and all I can say is WOW!! Awesome, awesome picture right out of the box with any and all source material. 3D with blu-rays looks really great as well, 3D through Verizon Fios not as much (although I have not yet tried ESPN3D). Great controls and super-quiet operation. Highly recommended as the jewel of your home theater.
