Summary: Personal Experience I bought this from sears a couple of years ago. The bulb is between $2 and $3 hundred depending where you get it. It needs about a bulb a year. I purchased the extended warranty from sears. when I took it there to fix, they said that it was a sony warranty. so I sent it to sony. they said that it had a bad blue lcd screen. then they said that they had no record of my warrenty.

Problems tiny problem i have just changed my globe and looks ok but a little blue on the edges of the screen dont know why is that ,i am still trying to work it out
Summary: Personal Experience If your looking for image quailty stay away from this projector. VERY BAD Screen Door. If your looking for a portable/kids projector this unit will be ok. Good for PS2 and XBOX but The XBOX 360 will look very bad when it is compared to other projectors. Problems No problems with the unit.
Summary: Personal Experience I picked-up a floor model with a Da-Lite 80" 16-9 pull-up screen (lamp hours used 100) not bad for $1200. After setup, I noticed by adjusting the sharpness back alittle gave the best image (more film like). Watched Flight-Plan and The 1st Matrix film thought I was at the movies! I hide the set when friends come over, don't want them hanging out at my place all the time bringing movies over to watch, think they'll help when the lamp needs replacing?
Summary: Personal Experience I looked all around for something that I could just set up in my small living room to be able to see my movie collects the way they are ment to be seen. I use projector central over and over agin to learn as much as I could. I learned that what I could live with was a small "screen door" effect of an LCD rather then the "rainbow" effect you get from DLP.
Summary: Personal Experience After having used the unit on a regular basis for nearly a year now, i have no queries in regard to its reliabilty and image quality, which still amaze me every time i turn the unit on. The chickenwire effect is somewhat noticeable when an image greater than 100" is being used, and can thus degrade your viewing pleasure, but by limiting the image size to less than this mark (which is pretty big anyway), you can't but enjoy the realism and amazing...
Summary: Personal Experience I have had the projector for about less than one year, have it mounted on ceiling, project onto DaLite screen, excellent image, nice colors, easy to use, but am very disappointed with the lamp life, after use of about 300 hours, the lamp burnt out, the replacement lamp lasted even lesser (just about 100 hours). The expected life of the lamp is about THREE THOUSAND hours and the it does not live upto the expectance.
Summary: Personal Experience I have found that if you turn on the projector without turning on the dvd or the amp depends on how you connected it the light wont go on because it is not receiving a signal. Then I turned the dvd and the amp on but the light still didn't go on. I was very upset then I switched the unit off, this time turning on the dvd player and the amp first and then the projector and it began to light up. Touch wood!!
