Sony Cineza VPL-HS51A projector

  • Summary: I bought this projector to replace a very nice rear projection tv that I sold due to it's size and weight. I never believed that a projector could even compare to the picture you get on a LCD or LED tv. After putting up the screen and arranging the projector I put a Blu Ray movie on the projector via a HDMI connection.

  • Summary: Personal Experience After an inordinate amount of research, I finally decided on this unit. I've connected my HS20 to my Toshiba HD-DVD player and the look is nothing short of stunning. It's honestly hard tearing myself away from the unit. The picture is that good. Had a friend over to watch the Matrix and the superlatives were flying. Just like being at the theatre was one remark. The unit is whisper quiet.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I have been using this projector for almost 2 years now and it has been an excellent purchase. I've been using it with a 12 feet, High-Power permanent screen. + The HD picture is breath-taking, amazingly beautiful. MUCH better than Sharp and Sanyo projectors I had.

  • Summary: Personal Experience Paid 799.00 for this unit and I must say as a first projector it's amazing. If you can find one you will really love it. Problems Leans towards green, and you need a room with atleast 13 feet wide in order to get a 100 inch picture. Great quailty picture with a upconverting dvd player. You won't regret your pruchase with this one.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I have had the unit for over a year, mainly watch movies, havn'e had the chance to watch HDTV which is supposed to be amazing. The movies I watch are incredible. I have it at 12ft, on projector screen material. Problems MS Mode, I've noticed after a year, it keeps switching to MS mode only if you have it set to 1080i. Most movies won't support 1080 so it switches to MS mode.

  • Summary: Personal Experience Assembly was easy, remote control is very simple to use. Picture quality is very impressive in terms of clarity of detail and range of colors. I play new xbox games on it and see all the details I could not see on a regular tv. High defition shows/movies are an experience of its own with this one. I never regret my decision to buy it, I get a full return for my investment. Problems Everything works good, no problems.

  • Summary: Personal Experience I have used the reviews of many projectors from projectorcentral to assist in my final decision. Thanks for all providing reviews. Final choice came down to issues 3 members of my family had with a variety of DLP's causing rainbow effect and feeling of dizziness. I have spent plenty of time with a variety of products and color wheel speeds and although I had ruled out LCD as most retailers pushed DLP over LCD for home theatre use, a Sony shop provided...

  • Summary: Personal Experience It's been a year now and I'm extremely happy with this projector, I use it to watch movies using the DVI model from Samsung and play video games (XBox and Gamecube). DVDs are not HD so you even though movies look stunning you can't really value this baby with DVD watching. When I use the XBox on the other hand, I'm still amazed on how great the image is, there's some games that support 1080i and when you play these ones it is really breath taking.
