2x the lamp, interface connection issues

  • Excerpt: I have the single lamp version of this baby that outputs 5200 ANSI lumen of bightness measured at the screen, and uses a single UHP lamp. Now, with 1x lamp you get 5200 ANSI brightness... with the 2x lamps used in this model, you get 7000. That is, 1800 more lumens for 2x the lamp costs. Sony is the ONLY PJ mfr I know of that has this problematic design of having all the inputs go to the FRONT PANEL of the projector, congregating around the lens.

Stay far far away

  • Excerpt: Excellent picture. Everything else is a mess. Control via ip ONLY if you use internet exploder on a windows machine. This is stupid. When working properly, control is sloppy. the programmer should be fired over this implementation. Control via PJ-net, a free sony app that only runs on windows and only if the projector and the windows computer are on the same subnet. Huh? This also is just stupid.
  • Pros: Great picture quality
  • Cons: Difficult To Set Up, Hard To Use, Limited Compatibility, Unreliable performance

  • Summary: Personal Experience Possibly the best projected image I have ever seen. Colour reproduction better than on my laptop screen. Huge lens shift with premium lenses makes installation simple when replacing old units it can go nearly anywhere.
