Summary: Personal Experience Sony really opened the door & gave the average earner a chance at high quality with this VPL-HW10 full HD projector. It gave a balance of performance that JVC-Panasonic et al, could not match wiyhout charging at least a 33% premium. Also it gives a very nice picture while zooming to 2.4:1. 115"s diagonal, from 13ft. Extremely watchable in daytime (although 16:9 HDTV football is even better) but outright cinematic quality at night (or dark room).
I should have purchased the Sony VPL-HW10 when it was first introduced.

Summary: I previously owned the 720p 165 watt Sony VPL-AW15 which I was very satisfied with. However, the 1080p 200 watt VPL-HW10 is brighter and has overall improved picture quality. The cooling fan is so quiet that I cannot tell it is running. I wish I could have purchased the Sony VPL-HW10 when it was first introduced.
Summary: This unit it awesome. It has really put the WOW in my theater set up. I'm projecting on to a 120" 16:9 screen and the picture in fantastic. The projector was easy to set up, has a great user interface, and the 30,000:1 contrast makes the picture pop! I definitely recommended this projector to anyone wanting a true theater setup in their home. Also Blu-ray is amazing, almost 3D in fact.
Summary: Personal Experience I have had the HW10 for three months now. I up-graded from an HS51. The improvement is amazing. The picture is sharper, has more color and handles rapid movement better. Set-up was a bit trying, but there are enough set-up features to overcome most situations. The operation is especially quiet. The remote is much-improved over the earlier model. I paid about $200 more for the HW10 than the HS51.
