Summary: Personal Experience This review is a follow-up to Ken's review, regarding fan noise. There's a power "efficient" mode, which when activated, slightly lowers the light output and slows the fan (& noise). Light output is still great, and noise not a problem. Problems None! The picture (brightness/blacks/colors) is outstanding! The HD picture is great, but we use it 99% for normal DVD's (especially anamorphic).
Summary: Personal Experience The black level on this machine is excellent. While many have expressed the audible noise from the fan it is not a distraction from your viewing experience. I did not notice any rainbows or dithering with this machine which cold be do to its 7 segment 5 time speed color wheel. The picture it puts out is razor sharp with processing of high definition sources such as blu-ray and hd-dvd. It also did a fantastic job with regular dvd movies as well.
Summary: Personal Experience I wasnt sure what to expect from a 720p projector when I purchased one for my showroom, but I was incredibly surprised once I set it up. It took very little setup on my end to make this projector look excelent. The colors were very accurate and the lines were super sharp. I was merely using a progressive scan dvd player and the picture looked HD.
Summary: I bought this unit new in 2007 and it has been my sole source of video/tv/computer screen. The HD quality rivals flat screen sets, in fact I really cant see the difference. I like the fact that it just projects on my wall and when its off, I dont have a tv set to try to decorate around. i dont use a screen and the quality is still outstanding. The negative is the bulb only last about 900 hours. I live alone so my bulb has lasted me up until now.
