Summary: I bought my at Sam's Club well over 5 years ago. A clearance sale to bring in a newer model. Never have had an issue with it. Shows a great picture just wish the volume was a bit louder. Same bulb since purchase. Have used it at church, family reunions and basement movie nights, etc. Only paid around 400-500 for it. It's been a while but worth every penny.
Summary: I have owned one of these projectors for 6 years. Great value for the money. Had an issue with the lamp manufacturer but that can happen with any projector. Otherwie lamps have lasted their full life.
Summary: Spectacular image quality; low noise. Still on original bulb. Note that high image quality and high resolution are not the same thing...this is a 1024 X 768 projector, not a HD projector. It can, however, take inputs of up to 1080i (via a special component-to-VGA cable, included). 720p and 1080i inputs are downgraded to the native 1024 X 768. The colors are natural; the image is lifelike and breathtaking. I saw none of the dreaded "rainbow" or "screen door" effects.
Summary: I bought this projector many years ago (maybe 4) and it's still going on the original bulb. I haven't looked at the odometer but I think it's around 800 hours, maybe 1000. Frankly I'm surprised that it's run this long, and it has been fantastic the entire time. It's mounted upside down on the ceiling. I think about upgrading it to an HD projector, but get to that "If it ain't broke don't fix it" thing every time. HD over component is very nice coming from my Playstation.
Summary: We needed a replacement projector since the one we were using quit. I bougt a new bulb on e-bay but that didn't fix it. I fould another projector of the same type and bought it to replace ours while I had dropped ours off at the repair place. It only cost a bit more to buy a replacement unit over the cost of repair. We use the unit every day so it was important to have a replacement unit. We now have a spare.
Summary: I bought a used system with a new bulb but no accessories whatsoever. The menus are simple to use and intuitive yet powerful enough that you are not left dissatisfied with the level of control attainable. Picture is Sharp and clear at the 92 Inches my 10' 6" lens to wall distance allows me. (a calculator is available online that will take your distance and projector model and calculate the maximum screen size.
Summary: Comments about Sharp Sharp XR10X XGA: This projector is just right. We were in the market for a new one and decided to give it a try and have not regretted on our decision. The 3 year warranty is very attractive. Sharp is a very well known product although this is my first time using another product by them besides the fax and copier but it does work very well. It a fast machine that does an amazing job.
