Summary: Nice picture quiet running projector that was easy to hook-up only concern is that I heard there is a issue with this model on the iris but so far so good. I hear that it can be fixed with WD40 I hope that works if I ever have problems with it. Great for Movies and video games!
Summary: I was reading a lot of reviews and people have been complaining about the IRIS isuue and short bulb life. I have had the IRIS issue as well, I think it started around 1200 hours of use. The projector would shut down after a few min. You would have to turn it back on, then after a few min it would shut right back down again. I would have to do this about 4 times before it would stay on and I could actually use it. I called Panasonic and they told me to send it in.
Summary: I found out about an issue with this projector but was pleased to find there are ways to fix it on the internet and you don't need to have an electronics background to fix it. The IRIS problem reared its ugly head and WD40, some Qtips and a little bit of patience fixed the issue. I still think it is a wonderful projector and the brightness and screen size in my basement is excellent.
Summary: Personal Experience My projector has started failing with a known issue with the Iris after 990 hours of excellent viewing. Panasonic don't want to replace a defective part FOC, instead want $350 ; this does not seem fair. Problems shuts down after a few minutes; this is a known issue with the Iris .
Summary: Personal Experience This model sucks Problems I have this projector for 12 months now 1) The projector powers off after 30-60 seconds on starting and goes on stand by (yellow light). It then shows a red light of power off 2) The projector does not start after this with the remote 3) It has to be powered off from the mains and then restarted 4) Earlier, this used to happen once and now it behaves abnormally and sometimes it has to be restarted even upto 8 times or...
P-sonic extended the warranty by 6mos. Also, AX200U solves iris issue

Summary: Highly recommended for color, clarity, flexibility, and ease of use. Panasonic has extended the warranty on this model by 6 months (total of 1.5 years). Also, the PT-AX200U solves the iris problem if you want to buy that unit without the warranty hassle.
Summary: I've had the Panasonic for over a year now and I have 1,100 hours on the Lamp. It's only turned itself off once that I know of in the last year and I didn't think anything about it at the time. This week it started flickering occasionally like it was switching between normal power and eco-power which is really annoying. I have a high-end power conditioner so I do't think electricity is the issue.
Summary: Personal Experience IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING SHUTDOWN PROBLEMS, see my link below: http://avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=12816058#post12816058 Unbeatable price performer when it was new, very bright, good contrast and good image. Using with a 2.35:1 150" screen. Usually run "Vivid Cinema" in mostly dark room, sometimes "Cinema 1" fully darkened for extra contrast. Dynamic mode does work well in lighted room.
Summary: Personal Experience I purchased this projector in Jan 2007 and by and large it has performed very well. I use it a lot (TV and movies) and I'm very satisfied with the picture. However, like so many others, I ran into the evil IRIS ISSUE at about 1000hrs. For those considering purchasing this projector just know that it's likely that this will happen to you.
Summary: Personal Experience Love the image, but reliability is poor. Went through 3 projectors. First had color uniformity issues. Fixed with later models? 2nd and 3rd units had dreaded IRIS failure with less than 400 hours on lamp. Fortunately, bought from the big C store. Just got the ax200. We shall see whether this one is any more reliable. Hearing flicker issues are common, though! Problems Iris failure on 2 units with under 400 hours.
