Summary: We've had this projector since 2007 and it now has almost 940 hours on the lamp. We have had no problems with the projector. It was purchased on a military installation in northern Japan and survived the move to the US and a second move in the US.
Summary: I bought this projector back in 2006 and it has been a great projector. I am on my third bulb and every bulb lasted righ at about 3000 hours. The screen I have is 180" and the picture is great. The only problem I have had with it is just like several people described. After about 3 years when I would turn it on after about 3 minutes it would turn off and the power light would turn yellow.

Summary: Nice picture quiet running projector that was easy to hook-up only concern is that I heard there is a issue with this model on the iris but so far so good. I hear that it can be fixed with WD40 I hope that works if I ever have problems with it. Great for Movies and video games!
Summary: Purchased 4 years ago and it did great up till recently. Once it dimmed down and started having the issues I contacted Panasonic who said they'd look at it if I shipped it to them (my cost) then paid $130 to diagnose. I checked their website and found a local repair shop. That shop basically said it's a great unit when it works, but there are three main issues with it, and that it sounds like I have one of those issues...
Summary: Personal Experience Purchased late 2007, installed in a smoke free dedicated cinema room from the ceiling and never removed untill problems developed in March 2011. Great unit up until time to replace the first bulb, then MAJOR problems Problems AT 1980 hours the unit began shutting off by its self after 3 min of running. I checked the web, found the advice for the iris, did the lube job, no help.
Summary: Personal Experience This projector has two serious problems. One is that the iris grease hardens up and the projector fails after 300 hours or so. They probably fixed that in later models. You have to open it up and take a q-tip and dab some Super-Lube on the iris and that seems to fix it. Second is that many people have flicker problems, myself included. Panasonic claims that it is not a known problem but it is certainly a known problem online.
