Summary: Personal Experience My projector is a May 2006 model and I've owned it for almost 5 years. It was a wonderful upgrade to the Infocus X1. My original bulb just now burnt out, (one week before super bowl party!) 2401hrs on the High/Bright setting with Iris. I'm thoroughly impressed with the picture, and I'm just going to buy a new bulb rather than buy a new 1080p. Blu-Ray looks great. I move a lot, so I need the 2x zoom and picture shift features.
Summary: Personal Experience I've had this projector for over 3.5 years now and with over 1,900 hrs on the lamp it runs as good as new. Excellent picture quality and very reliable! Problems None whatsoever.
Summary: Not too happy. Received the unit in an oversized box with one thin single 1/4" bubble wrap around it, at least a few inches on every side of room for it to knock around in the box during shipping. The lens is damaged. The unit works but the outer ring on the lens used for focusing is now all messed up. The lens cap won't go back on easily either. I'm surprised the unit even worked actually with such a poor wrapping job. Won't buy from this person again.
Summary: I have hooked it up and found the yellow component jack to be faulty. The picture skips and flutters when using it. I've worked around it with the s-video port but this shouldn't happen to a projector with only 300 hours on it. Think the wording description was misleading and the seller was using the projector so must have had some inclination to the problem.
Summary: Even though it's ~5 years old, the Panny AE900 is still a great HD 720p projector for home theater use. Incredibly easy to use with plenty of zoom to be fit for almost any room. Projects a crisp, clean and vibrant image.
Summary: Personal Experience Overall the projector is quite good, as it is my first projector. The picture quality is outstanding as long as it's working as it should... the first time I used it I was blown away and had never seen anything better in any kind of home environment before that. I bought the machine when it was first released. I have about 500 hours on the bulb and no problems with it blowing yet (knock wood).
