Excerpt: Replaced my previous Panasonic AE700 after 9 years and thought it could not get any better. After easy set up, the difference was from the night to day! Amazing picture and my family room did not have to be completely dark! The 3D is amazing!! Slowly but surely it is replacing my flat panel 46 inch TV. Now have to work on fine tuning the colors. Wish this could be easier but should be fun!
Summary: I have this in our theater/rec room. It's both great for movies and gaming. The update rate is fast enough for gaming and a quick switch to normal and you're all set for movies. My family absolutely love this projector.
Summary: We added a dedicated theater room a few years ago and have enjoyed an Infocus SD projector that seemed great for movies but the bulb has been getting dimmer and I was not convinced that I should replace the bulb but instead replace the projector and give my SD unit to my son. I thought it was time to get into HD. I have been looking at the Panasonic projectors for a few years and was waiting for this model to come down in price.
Pros: Bright, Easy To Set Up, Great Contrast, Intuitive Controls, Many Useful Features, Quiet, Sharp Picture, Spot On Colors
Summary: Bought panasonic as replacement for older projector in basement home theatre. I was also looking at Epson, but felt this was the better deal due to rebate, also liked black color. There is no comparison to my old projector, this thing is super bright and crisp. My buddy has same projector on a 135 inch screen in a bright large room and his picture is awesome.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Remote, Interfaces Well With TV, Intuitive Controls
Summary: I purchased this projector as a replacement for an aging AE-900U in my dedicated, custom home theater room. Having read the reviews I was excited about this purchase and couldn't wait to get it up and running. The unit was a piece of cake to unbox and mount. The picture is nothing short of brilliant! This thing is a light cannon and I had no problem viewing in a fully lit room. Turning the lights down to movie level and this thing knocked my socks off.
