Summary: Personal Experience The native WXGA RESOLUTION is ok for using it with a wide screen computer. The contrast ratio and brightness ensure crisp, clear presentations: automatic fonctionnalits as they allow quick setup.
Summary: I bought this to replace my existing PT-AE700U projector. I didn't want to upgrade because I already have a couple of unused bulbs. This projector is fantastic! I am using it with a 106" screen. There is very little motion blur (usually only noticed with large sweeping spots) works great with video games and the picture it produces with HD Directv is better than 1080p on Comcast. New projectors have higher lumens but my theater is blacked out so it is a non issue.
Summary: I purchased the PT-AE700U in early 2005, and have been impressed by everything about it, other than bulb life. This one is on its third bulb--all used at low power and high fan settings. It is very enjoyable and satisfying to watch on a 12'/4' painted wall "screen". Everyone who has viewed it has been delighted with the HD picture, despite the fact that Blu-Ray is able to display more resolution than the native 720p of this model.
Summary: Personal Experience I was thrilled with the Panasonic PT-AE700U 's performance right out of the box. It was easy to set up and operate. The picture quality was great. The projected worked very well for the first year. I lost a bulb right after my first year and to replace that. About a year later my power supply died on me. I am debating fixing the power supply or cutting my losses with Panasonic and moving on to another company.
Summary: Personal Experience Bought it Feb 2005 and was extremely pleased until just recently see this blue haze especially noticeable when projecting black. I have 3,500 of use and just put in my 3rd bulb. So this amounts to over $1 per hour of use. Way too high. I noticed similar blue haze issues with other opinions and am investigating a fix with Panasonic. Dealer / repair shop said if its the optical block you may as well get a new projector.
Summary: Personal Experience great picture purchased projector jan.05 got the extended warranty good through jan.08 one week after warranty expired started to get blue haze from projector. Problems panasonic would not help they wanted 1400.00to fix i am not the only one with this optical problem.unfortunately just purchased new lamp bulb 35hrs.of use i am now selling on e-bay. just purchased a sanyo.
Summary: Personal Experience I've had the 700 for 2 1/2 years and it was working great until about 2 weeks ago, the blue tint on the left side has snuck in and makes movies almost unwatchable for me. Up until that point, I had no complaints but now it's time to replace it.
Summary: Personal Experience I have had this projector for about 2 years. Overall, right up until the bulb blew, I was happy with the projector. The good, great picture, simple setup, low but noticeable fan noise. Problems Biggest problem is a common one apparently, the bulb only lasted around 700 hours. The specs say 2000 in high, and 3000 in low mode. Perhaps in some lab conditions, but not in the real world.
Summary: Personal Experience Good picture quality! Problems The illumination is below a minimum for viewing after only 530 hours in two years, luckily i found a new bulb at nearly half price of the local dealers, check out http://smartimports.net/ ! (this is not a commercial made by the mentioned site, just thought its was valuabe info for the owners!
