It has an HDMI input, a component, s-video, VGA, and composite input. It has a native resolution of 1080 pixels by 1920 pixels. The PT-AE1000 projector has the dimensions of 46 cm for its width, 30 cm for its depth, and 13 cm for its height. The weight of the projector is at 8 kilograms.

One potential confusing element in this story is the benefit of calibrating. It is clear that a full calibration correcting all aspects of the product is not going to be in your best interest unless you are shooting for the CINEMA 1 mode. None of the differences I saw with the other projectors that passed through my home theater while the Panasonic was under review were at all obvious without viewing them either side-by-side with, or immediately after, the Panasonic. In fact, I lived with the Panasonic for several weeks when it was the only quality projector available to me, and not once was I less than delighted by its picture. Remember, you can always invest more money, to buy more performance. The PT-AE1000U isn't going to be the best 1080p projector out there, but it is certainly the least expensive to date, and that translates into a real value. Read more
