Excerpt: I just purchased and installed this projector in our bonus room/home theater. The room is very bright during the day which has been a problem with my previous projector when watching sporting events on the weekend. This projector easily overcomes the ambient light with just simply pulling the shades in the room to cut down on the direct sunlight. And the performance at night without excess light in the room is even better.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Plenty Bright, Sharp Picture
Excerpt: I have been using the PT AR-100U for the last 2 years and all I can say is "what a product". This is the best Panasonic projector in its series available. The performance is superb and the picture output is mind blowing. Have been watching all the World Cup matches on it and loving every moment.I was lucky to purchase it for $ but even at the current price it's a great deal.I would recommend this to everyone. Go for it.
Pros: Clear Sound, Contrast Ratio, Easy To Set Up, Energy Efficient, Good Remote, Intuitive Controls
Excerpt: The picture quality for the cost on this projector is excellent. Our previous projector had vertical and horizontal lens shift, so that was a requirement so we wouldn't need to move mounts and existing cabling. This was the only product at a reasonable cost with those features. We weren't disappointed. Even in a room with a lot of ambient light, the picture is clear. Would highly recommend.
Excerpt: I bought my projector about a year ago from B&H photo. My projector is about 14 foot from my screen. I have a light gray pull down screen (92" diagonal). The picture in medium and low light conditions is spectacular. This projector replaced my old PT700. There is no comparison between the two. This one is in a whole different league. I would suggest not using the projector as an alternate for your computer monitor.
Summary: Personal Experience Great images, quiet operation, HD quality very nice. Unit was larger than I expected but no issue as it is ceiling mounted. Not reliable, bad customer service experience, cannot recommend purchase which is a shame as images are nice, just not long-lived! Problems Projector People were excellent. Panasonic experience has been poor. Unit purchased 12/12, emitted smoke and bottom half of screen went dark 11/13.
Great images, quiet operation, horrible reliability!!

Summary: A real disappointment as it seemed like great value for dollars spent! I purchased the unit on 12/07/12. Installed and immediately started enjoying. In November 2013, it emitted smoke and bottom half of screen went dark. It has been used pretty heavy playing video games and movie watching by teenie boppers but it is a good ceiling mount installation with plenty of ventilation. I sent the unit to Panasonic who returned it to me after 6-weeks, claiming no trouble found.
Excerpt: I just installed the Panasonic PT-AR100U in my basement & am pleasantly surprised by it. I have long debated about whether to buy a large (75" - 80") flat panel TV or a projector. I feared that I would not be happy with the picture quality of any projector that was reasonably priced. On the flip side, I feared that I wouldn't be satisfied with only a 75" or 80" flat panel. I know, I know, who wouldn't be satisfied with a TV that size, right?
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Great picture quality, Intuitive Controls
