Summary: I've now had this projector since January 2011 and its still surprising me on how clear the picture is. I've had three screens for this projector: I built a 90" DIY screen that looked amazing, followed by moving to a house with the ability to DIY paint a wall for 130" that also looked amazing, and am about to buy a 120" screen that I know will keep me happy.

Summary: I have had the tx 1080 for over 1 year and it is impressive. It is in my home threatre. Most people who watch it say it looks like a TV and not a projection. The color and resolution are impressive. Recently it started to overheat and shutdown. We found that the air vent was covered with lint. After cleaning the vent it is working great again.
Summary: I have owned this projector for over three months and have had no troubles with it. It is plug and play! The room I use it in has some ambient light -several windows -but the picture is still crystal clear due to the high lumen value (bright bulb). I am a novice consumer, but very happy with this product as a home theater projector for DVD, Blu-Ray and online content (mostly Netflix streaming).
Summary: This is by far the best projector I've owned or used in either a home theater or corporate setup. Excellent picture quality. Excellent Brightness. Excellent Contrast. My only gripe is that it sometimes takes a long time (more than 20 seconds) for the projector to detect the active input and to aquire the input signal -- that can be annoying (but I guess there must be an option somewhere to disable the auto-scanning if you only have one input source connected).
Summary: This unit is installed in a theater setup and the bright, crisp, high-definition presentation quality is superb. It is also worth noting that the filter-free design prevents the need (since it is ceiling mounted) to climb up a ladder and maintain the unit as other models require. Overall, everyone including myself is very impressed with this projector.
Summary: Movie night at the house is now much more exciting. I watched Avatar on bluray and it was stunning! Pro : Picture quality, everyone loves it. 1080 Is incredible. Cons : I will need purchase blackout curtains to effectively watch this during the day. The auto input search changes faster than my cable box can negotiate the resolution and speed of the HDMI connection, I do not have this problem when connecting my PS3 (bluray) to it.I resolved that by turning it off.
Summary: I use this projector with a Dish DVR and a Samsung Blue Ray disk player with (netflix)routed through a Denon AVR988. HDMI cable is a 35 foot 24 gauge flat type. Used in a living room projected onto a wall. Projector is 16 foot away and results in a 98" by 48" image. Denon acts as HDMI switch. Reds are very good and skin tone is very realistic. Be aware that this unit is fairly large - 16.5" wide and 12" front to back.
