Summary: Very, very light usage since we purchased it about two years ago. No more than 400 hours of total usage (in fifteen minute chunks with the unit powered off inbetween) and it is now impossible to use owing to the black and white spots taking up about 40% of the screen. Will not buy again.
Summary: Personal Experience The Optoma PK201 is a great pocket projector. It is one of the smallest projectors out there that is still usable in everyday situations. Problems The focus is a little messy and can sometimes be impossible to get perfect. There was a problem with a chip in the projector so I called up Optoma. They had extended the warranty on the chip to 3 years and replaced it for free.
Summary: not as i expected, yes its handy but to use for the power point you need to be connected to laptop. the picture was not that clear unless you are just a meter away, i just waste my money for this.
Short lived and repair cost more than purchase price

Summary: I received mine as a gift less than 3 years ago. It did work fine but it has been used very rarely. I've watched maybe 20 movies on it. As others have reviewed, mine has just started displaying black and white pixels and is unusable. To send it back will cost $125 for labor and return shipping plus the cost to ship plus the cost for parts.
Summary: I too purchased a pico pk-201 in 2011. It worked well for aout a year. White spots began to appear on the image. Then they multiplied to the point a third of the image was unreadable. I bought a back up unit but wanted to get the first one fixed so that too could be a back-up. Its still under warranty.... so I just called the company...Optoma told me it indeed was under warranty but I would have to pay for the labor...
Summary: Only used this thing maybe 4 Times, and Last night turned it on and White spots all over the screen from a Bad Cmd chip as I googled the problem that so many are having. Optoma should refund all our money or give us a free corrected Projector!! I am truly disappointed, on this huge waste of money, and in Optoma! With this experience I would Never buy another Optoma product again, nor encourage anyone else to do so.
