The Optoma PK201 is a pico projector that supports 854 X 480 (16:9) pixel resolution, 0.3“ WVGA DLP panel, 20 ANSI lumens Bright mode (with AC power adapter or optional extended battery pack) brightness (12 ANSI lumens in standard mode), 2000:1 (Full On/Off) contrast ratio, RGB LEDs with 20,000hrs of usage life, 28 MB internal memory and a battery that provides users power up to 1 hour (on standard settings). It projects an image size of up to 5”~66“ (16:9 native). The Optoma PK201 supports seven input and output terminals, such as VGA (with incl. cable), micro USB, Video/Audio-in, audio-out, DC Jack, MicroSD Socket, Mini HDMI and Video/Audio input such as 2.5 mm A/V Jack, Composite, VGA/Component In 24-pin CCNT, Host/ Device/ Battery charger micro USB and 3.5 mm Audio-Out jack. The Optoma PK201 also features a 0.5W speaker, supports up to 16 GB via its microSD slot and HDMI in port. The Optoma PK201 measures 4.6” (L) x 2.4“ (W) x 0.7 (H) (117.7mm (L) x 60.6mm (W) x 16.6mm (H)) and weighs 5.60 oz (159 g) with battery.

Features

The Optoma PK201 is a pico projector that utilizes the Texas Instruments' DLP Digital Micro-mirror device combined with LED and optical technology. It is designed for the business user and general consumers that require an alternative to the lower-powered projectors. With a retail price of $299 the Optoma PK201 is set to be available by mid-March 2010. Compatible with a laptop and netbook and providing users with a portable way to share and showcase content in a wide range of environments on its palm-sized form factor, the PK201 supports a complement of connectivity options, including HDMI and a MicroSD socket that supports up to 16GB. The device is powered by a lithium battery that provides users with more than 45 minutes of usage time on bright mode, and one hour or more in its 12-lumens “eco” mode. The PK201 also features a host of other input and output connections, such as a universal port capable of receiving VGA and component video signals, allowing users to connect the projector to the VGA port of laptops and netbooks for impromptu presentations; component video capability for connections to iPods and portable gaming devices. Other features on the PK201 includes a 0.5-watt speaker and an audio-out jack for connecting headphones or external speakers, 30 MB of internal memory and Optoma's encoding software that formats most picture and video files for playback directly from the internal drive, a MicroSD card or other external memory devices. The projector supports AVI, MOV, MP4 and 3GP file format through video conversion software; and JPEG, BMP, GIF and TIFF picture format.
