Summary: Purchased from ebay for $500 in 2010. Use it about once every other day. This machine has been wonderful! We dont watch tv, dont own a tv but we do watch DVDs, have a ps2 and have a GBTV subscription online. So we have ours set up that we can view from computer, ps2. 5 stars! great purchase. it's worth about triple what we paid for it. Cinema+ experience in your own home!
Summary: I bought this projector because Projectorreviews.com gave it a "hot" rating. It bragged about how it had a 5x, 7 section color wheel to see little to no rainbows. Well, I still see tons of rainbows when there is action on the screen. For dramas, the projector is awesome. I love the rich blacks (instead of grays) on the screen. However, when action pops up, I see rainbows like crazy. It is very irritating.
Summary: Personal Experience I found this unit has a great image and very bright. It is easy to use. Problems My problem is with Optoma Customer Service. It is one of the worse that I have seen in a long while. I have bought this unit new on sale in July 2009 to install in a new house we were building. The unit was installed in late September of that year.
Summary: We bought this projector from the Best Buy outlet store on ebay and we have been thrilled about it ever since. The picture is amazing, it's easy to use and set up. The picture is bright and high contrast. One of the best things about it is that it is whisper quiet. We have ours about 15 or 16 feet back and it throws up a very sharp 10 foot screen. Nothing but smiles at our house. I'd recommend this to anyone.
Summary: If you want a big screen, forget 40 inch or 46 inch LCDs, try a 10 foot picture!! Replacing an older HP projector. This one is brighter, better contrast, higher resolution and much, much quieter, plus has an HDMI input. Great picture, perfect for watching movies and sports. I've been looking for a while and this one has the right combination of features and performance at a reasonable price.
Pros: Easy To Setup, Great picture quality, Sharp picture quiet fan
Summary: Very nice product. Four picture options allow for two good resolution movie viewing options, a huge image (though not as crisp), or a very good native option for TV viewing quality. It was simple to set up with an extremely intuitive menu. My last projector was a Dell. I paid similar prices for both and the Optoma holds promise to be a significant improvement over the Dell, especially if Abe's and Optoma deliver on service assistance the way they did with sales.
Pros: Easy To Setup, Easy to use, Great picture quality
Summary: We had issues with it overheating once it was all hooked up. Called Abe's and they issued an RMA for me to return. HOWEVER, I figured out that I didn't have the A/C running in the media room to move the hot air away from the projector. Once I fixed that, haven't had an issue since then.
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this HD 71, on sale at Circuit City for $899.00, to upgrade our family room theater and it did not disappoint. Before, I had an NEC LT260 projector shooting onto a very budget 8'X6' Da-Lite Model B HC Matte white screen which had actually served us quite well. However, times have changed, especially with HDMI inputs etc. and after re-measuring my room I found I could go bigger.
