Summary: Personal Experience I found this unit has a great image and very bright. It is easy to use. Problems My problem is with Optoma Customer Service. It is one of the worse that I have seen in a long while. I have bought this unit new on sale in July 2009 to install in a new house we were building.
Summary: This is the choice if you do not have a light controlled room and want this to be a tv replacement. I recomend a high contrast screen (grey) to minimize light reflection. Fan IS SILENT.
Pros: Really bright. Can have lights on/ windows open and still have a great picture. I run it for about 10 hours a day for a year now and have had no problems. I am glad i went with this one and not the cheaper model with 1080p but less lumens. If you want a projector for a living room, this is the pr...
Summary: Would have liked to buy this from Newegg but at the time they didn't have them.
Pros: Great projector. Really bright. Does a great job with HD content. Fan is quiet despite some of the reviews I read to the contrary. I am sensitive to the rainbow artifacts of DLP but I rarely notice them with this projector.
Cons: Takes a little effort to get the placement correct, but a little time and a few measurements are all that is needed. Black level is good but not great.
Summary: I'd buy this over any LCD and plasma anytime. Also, I find using a brand name HDMI cable like Monster had a bit advantage over color compare to really cheap cable. Be smart, you don't have to buy those cable brand new. Auction site is your source.
Pros: Capable of displaying 1080p which I'm currently using right now to watch DVD and Blue Ray. A way better investment for home theater than LCD and plasma. Everything look nice and sharp with my 84" screen mounting inside my small room. Expensive lamp replacement but worth every dime, nickel, and pe...
Cons: It's hotter than the latest graphic card, maybe the cooling fan is a bit small. Not include ceiling mounting.
Summary: so i had an hc1500 ( i think, it was the mitsubishi 720p 1700 lumen) and it was just ok...the throw distance sucked on it and the zoom did virtually nothing. The mitsubishi just wasnt bright enough for my game room and for the money your basically getting a projector for the same cost, but its twice...
Summary: Second projector I've owned. First HD projector. Huge difference. I have a large collection of 1080p and they look amazing on this projector.
Pros: Displays 1920x1080. Great contrast even in a lighted room. I was expecting the fan to be very loud based on several reviews I read, but I don't notice it.
Cons: The only real complaint I have about this is with the ImageAI. While it does make a pleasant difference in the quality of the image, the change in brightness is very abrupt and noticeable when a movie switches from a dim to a bright scene. It was enough to ruin the experience and I've left the Im...
Summary: Personal Experience I bought this HD 71, on sale at Circuit City for $899.00, to upgrade our family room theater and it did not disappoint. Before, I had an NEC LT260 projector shooting onto a very budget 8'X6' Da-Lite Model B HC Matte white screen which had actually served us quite well.
Summary: Personal Experience this is my first projector ,the picture is bright and clear . when i use the projector (for movies) i put the fan on high for extra cooling, once mounted to ceiling you barly here the fan.
Summary: This projector was best described as a light cannon. i tried it during the day with the lights on and windows open. ambient light does not affect the picture. its atleast twice as bright as your average projector.
Pros: Bright. A good selection of inputs. DLP. Internal speaker. Good picture.
Cons: not many options to adjust the picture. not the best contrast on a projector. Does not come with a manual, just a cd with the manual on it.
