Summary: Had this projector for like a year. Didnt even get the fool life of the bulb out of it, just dropped the signal one day. The component does not work either just a green picture with static. May get it repaired if its not a arm and a leg.
Summary: I got home from work yesterday and my son tells me the projector is broken. It had an error saying Fan Failure, now it won't turn on. Contacted Amazon for return authorization and they automatically ordered another for me. I'm waiting on UPS to pick up the old one and Amazon to ship my new one.
Summary: UPDATE 1/12/13: Well, I've owned this projector for almost 4 years now and I want to share some thoughts on it. This projector, as far as I know, is discontinued because of newer models. However, if you are looking at purchasing one, let me share my experiences with you before you make a decision.
Summary: I bought a refurb with only a 90 day warranty. Bulb that is supposed to last 3000hrs lasted for 5 months (720hrs) & cost me $344.00 to replace. For the price I paid for the projector & the replacement bulb, I could have bought a 1080p projector.
Excerpt: Bought one of these a little while back after a recommendation for optoma DLP projectors. Was also reasonably priced for a HD projection system. Have this hooked up to my PS3 though its HDMI connection at present and it works like a dream, the picture quality is amazing in HD.
Pros: Great picture quality, especially from HD sources . .
Excerpt: The Optoma ThemeScene HD65 is a great product to have in your living room. I choise the Optoma ThemeScene HD65 becoase my friend suggested that thid was the best prjector in term of picture quailty. Watch a HD movie from a DVD is like watching through a live window panel.
