Summary: We've had this projector now for 7 years. It's wonderful and we've never had problems with it. Great picture, huge 138 inch screen being mounted on the ceiling 15 feet away. We have loved it! Who needs to go to the theater now? Not us!
Had this for years on 1 bulb and still going strong.

Summary: bought one of these years ago, used it extensively for a couple years, stuck it in a box for a year, now it's my main work-horse for any video in my living room. Looks good, works great, quiet, haven't had any problems with the bulb.
Summary: I have had the HD65 for a little over a year. About 200 hrs on the unit. I recently "upgraded to an Optoma 1080P projector and ended up returning it. Why? Well, I have to say that the difference was negligible. The newer projector was slightly brighter as it was rated for nearly 3000 lumens.
Summary: I have had this projector for 3 years and just now blew the lamp. I bought this to replace an outdated but really good CRT projector that weighed over 150 lbs. I. Was immediately shocked at how simple it is to work, but it is so simple because they removed a lot of options.
Summary: My sophomore year of college I lived in an eight person room. Before the year started my roommates and I decided to split the cost of this $1000 projector. It might have been the best decision we made all of our years in college. The picutre looks great, extremely sharp images.
Summary: I love my projector a have a nice screen I use with it too. I won't go back to a regular tv after this projector. Nothing beats a 108 in screen. Friends n family like it. Girlfriend loves watching movies on it. Bright, vivid screen. Worth the price.
Summary: I didn't bother getting a replacement bulb. I just figure it's likely to happen again, and at the price of bulbs it's not worth the risk.
Pros: For the price, I was quite impressed with the image quality. I used it for PC gaming, and even though it's 720p it ran 1080p with good quality. Watched movies at 720p and they were great.
Cons: Without lights on, with blinds closed, images washed quite a bit. But that was expected. The big con I have with this is the heat. I ended up ceiling mounting it about 6 feet away from my A/C unit. Yet the bulb blew anyway. I got about 250 hours out of it. Considering the cost of replacement bulb...
Summary: Instead of enjoying my "movie night" with family and friends I'm writing this review. After the first bulb burnt out after probably 40 hours of use (don't know for sure because you can't check it without a working lamp) I reluctantly shelled out $200 for another lamp.
Pros: Nice picture and good price... if it worked more than 40 hours.
Cons: Overheats and burns out lamp. Good chance you will receive a defective unit and if you are a day over the warranty period Optoma will make you pay.
Summary: If you don't mind buying a new lamp for this projector after less than 40 hours of use this may be right projector for you. Instead of enjoying my "movie night" with family and friends I'm writing this review.
