Can a first time projector owner hit a home run on his first at bat? An Optoma HD33 review.

Summary: First off, I have to come clean ......not only have I never reviewed a projector before, this is the first projector I've ever owned. And while I try to keep myself abreast of the newest info, trends, and technology that floods the AV market, by no means am I professional.
Summary: I'm not going to review the image or the projector itself. There's countless other reviews that will do a better job. I will only say that the image is great, and the 3D is simply AMAZING, and works way better than those spiffy LED TVs.
Summary: I am fortunate enough to live very close to an IMAX movie theater. I've seen lots of 3D Movies on the IMAX screen including Avatar and Prometheus. I've also been lucky to own several Optoma DLP projectors. The HD33 is now my favorite new toy.

Summary: I hoped beyond hope that I was making the right call when I ordered my HD33, I had a BIG PROJECT, and it required a GOOD, if not GREAT projector to get the job done. My goal was to put together a large screen home theater in my shop, big screen, surround sound, seating, and 3d projector, and the RUB...
Summary: First off, let me say that this is my first projector... and I'm excited... cuz I have a kick-ass 7.1 sound system to go with it. I just got my OptomaHD33 today. After I got-er all hooked up, the first movie I decided to use for my trial run was Tim Burton's "9" on blu-ray...
Summary: Personal Experience Initially I had the Epson Powerlite 5010. I had a lemon and tried to contact Epson for exchange. They gave me a lot of trouble because I bought from Ebay. They said it is considered a 3rd party and will not honor it.

Summary: I purchased this unit because I wanted built in 3D and because I thought that my 7 YOA HD72 was approaching end of life. Well, the HD72 is still working perfect but my 7 yoa Elite 120 screen motor failed. After replacing the screen is when I found the real potential of the HD33.
Summary: Big big big step up from my Benq PB-6100. It made my jaw drop when I first turned it on. After a little tweaking, mainly getting it framed on my screen and focused correctly my jaw dropped again! When paired with a PS3 and a 150in screen the people really look like they are there.
Summary: I had been looking for something to improve my TV viewing experience. I already had 55 inch HD samsumg with an excellent image. But i wanted more size, specially since i have a basement big enough for it. I looked at the 70 and 60 inches TV's, but it was too much money.
