Summary: I was very lucky is choosing this as I know so little about them . 3 years later it is problem free and compared to others I have seen brulillaint quality and has been trouble free so me. Good quality picture too.
Summary: I have this mounted on my lounge ceiling (upside-down), for my home cinema. It works fine and gives a great picture. Rich colours and good contrast. The only slight niggle I have is that the 12V output to trigger my automatic projection screen doesn't come on for about 30 secs after powering on the projector. I'd rather it came on straight away so that the screen is down by the time the projector is warmed up.
Summary: Have this over a year now and I still get that wow feeling when watching hd films and game of thrones of the like. Would not recommend as a every day tv replacement as bulbs are expensive but as a secondary media device in your home it will not disapoint
Summary: High quality image with a decently bright image even on standard ECO mode. Excellent colours and image detail. Requires a reasonably dark room for best results and contrast although works perfectly well for general use even during day with poor curtains. Takes some time to properly plan where to set up, especially if ceiling mounting, but end results are clearly worth it.
Optoma Home Theater Series HD200X: Fantastic HD video for a great price!
17 June 2012
Summary: -- Introduction -- I spent a long time thinking about getting a projector. I loved the idea of a huge image - like a cinema in my front room - but was not up-to-date with the current projector technology and was unsure of what they were capable of, especially at this price point. I did some research online and discovered this Optoma model (the HD200X) was considered a great pj for the price, being full HD and and abailable brand new from Tesco for £548.
Pros: Superb 1080p picture, brilliant colours, can't go wrong at this price!
Cons: Projector gets very hot after an hour or two!
Summary: Having spent ages looking at different T.V's 32"37"40"50" LCD LED PLASMA.I found this projector then spent ages again do I don't I, and in the end I went for it. Why Oh Why didn't I just go for it to start with, it has to be the best purchase of my life There are so many projectors out there but for the money this projector has everything that you could possibly want.
Summary: For the price, it would be churlish to fault it. I did notice quite a bit of the "rainbow effect", but after setting it to Warm Colour, Cinema mode with film gamma and then adjusting the contrast and brightness from the DVE disc, it has become practically unnoticable. It's also on dim mode with the contract down to about 40. On bright mode and pumping the white level, this could easily be used in a reasonably bright room, such as a weekend afternoon with the sport on.
