Summary: Personal Experience This is my second projector, the first one being the excellent Optoma H27, which lasted 4.5 years until the color wheel broke. I've watched about 15 bluray movies on it so far, and here are my thoughts; Positives- bright, colorful image, small attractive unit, sharp picture, 2 hdmi inputs, better throw angle than last projector, and price.
Summary: I was very lucky is choosing this as I know so little about them . 3 years later it is problem free and compared to others I have seen brulillaint quality and has been trouble free so me. Good quality picture too.
Summary: I have this mounted on my lounge ceiling (upside-down), for my home cinema. It works fine and gives a great picture. Rich colours and good contrast. The only slight niggle I have is that the 12V output to trigger my automatic projection screen doesn't come on for about 30 secs after powering on the projector. I'd rather it came on straight away so that the screen is down by the time the projector is warmed up.
Summary: Have this over a year now and I still get that wow feeling when watching hd films and game of thrones of the like. Would not recommend as a every day tv replacement as bulbs are expensive but as a secondary media device in your home it will not disapoint
Summary: I bought this projector (from Amazon) 14 months ago, It worked perfectly and was very impressive compared next to my other (Ben Q) projector. However,... 14 months with a total of 500 hours used according to the bulb timer and the projector malfunctioned. Contacted Optoma and was informed the warranty had expired after 12 months (not good considering the cost of the item being over £600).
Summary: High quality image with a decently bright image even on standard ECO mode. Excellent colours and image detail. Requires a reasonably dark room for best results and contrast although works perfectly well for general use even during day with poor curtains. Takes some time to properly plan where to set up, especially if ceiling mounting, but end results are clearly worth it.
Absolutely fantastic projector for the money - at £548 you can't go wrong - full HD looks incredible

Excerpt: -- Introduction -- I spent a long time thinking about getting a projector. I loved the idea of a huge image - like a cinema in my front room - but was not up-to-date with the current projector technology and was unsure of what they were capable of, especially at this price point. I did some research online and discovered this Optoma model (the HD200X) was considered a great pj for the price, being full HD and and abailable brand new from Tesco for £548.
Summary: Good points: Excellent contrast and resolution, much cheaper than other 1080p projectors (especially at Tesco, which is the cheapest place I could find for this projector by far), easy to set up. Bad points: some rainbow effect on very high contrast images, no 3.5mm jack socket, so I had to connect my ps3 up to an amplifier in order to get sound.
