Very satisfied with my first projector

  • Summary: I have owned this Projector for 2 years and have managed to rack up almost 7000 hours on the original lamp in eco mode. While the dark scenes can be overly dark it don't impact viewing of any normal or bright scenes. I love watching a high bit rate blu-ray on this. Even 720p sources such as those downloaded from amazon look great on this. Outside of the dark scenes the picture is great and I really enjoy watching on a 92" screen and hope to go bigger some day.
  • Pros: Cheap compared to a much smaller lcd tv, easy to take outside for some backyard viewing
  • Cons: Dark scenes are too dark even in a perfectly dark room, Fan is noisy in normal lamp mode

Great Projector For the Price

  • Summary: Great projector for the price. It's a bit washed out in heavy light, but in dark room the picture is crisp and clean (even on white wall). Would definitely recommend.

Amazing for price, but needs better video processor/blacks/controls

  • Summary: Amazing for the price. If want to get critical I'd say I wish it had better blacks. Wishing for too much for the price, I guess. After adjusting w/ color bars and balance, this projector has problems with low contrast in combination with darkness. It seems it has problems w/ poorly lit scenes and can't hold it's own very well (it turns muddy gray in the picture at this point). The color needs more variable control. The controls seem to sensitive for their own good.

"Astounded by the Vid. Quality!! and SO SIMPLE to use!!"

  • Pros: Compact, quiet, extremely user friendly interface & controls, cheap maintenance & management, beautiful picture for both gaming and movies.
  • Cons: Lens controls are limited, so you have to position well. Only available in white (a black model, and earth tones availability would have been nice).

Excellent projector for the $$$$ -

  • Summary: Excellent projector.. Due to space restrictions... I purchased this setup as an alternative to my Sony 52" XBR LCD. Knowing that it wouldn't compare to my LCD... I was VERY pleased with the picture. My only gripe, and to be expected, is the deepness of the blacks. Picture is extremely sharp at HD.. and colors are vibrant. Especially after a calibration.

Good for the price

  • Summary: The image quality is good, but you can tell it is a low cost 1080p projector. The biggest con is the fan noise, it also ramps up and down as it runs and can be very distracting.

  • Summary: For the money, this is the best 1080p projector on the market. The picture quality is excellent. The unit is easy to set up and looks great. The fan is not exactly silent, but you don't notice it during most use. I'm very happy with this purchase.
  • Pros: Easy To Setup, Easy to use, Great picture quality, Reliable Performance

Great value-priced home theater proj

  • Summary: I have owned projectors before, so I am speaking from some experience when I say that this projector is a great value to quality item. I do have the projector mounted on the ceiling in a light-controlled room. I am very pleased with the picture, with the exception of black levels. At this price point some concessions must be made and black levels is one trade-off that is evident. The blacks are not inky black like a plasma, but more in line with many LCD TV's.
  • Pros: Easy To Setup, Easy to use, Great picture quality, Reliable Performance, Small Footprint

Fantastic buy [...]

  • Summary: The color brightness and ease of use were perfect for me while I am a knowledgeable engineer I didn't want a home project that would take some analysis this was very easy fast and if it is a fixture in your house I'm certain it will please you. The biggest issue I had with it was getting the picture to flip for ceiling mount. once I found the setting it was easy, issue 2 one time it has turned on purple. I simply had to shut it down and start it up again. No big deal.

  • Summary: I upgraded from an HD70 to the HD20 and am very pleased with the results. The HD20 is noticeably brighter and the step to 1080p from 720p is welcome. I'm using an Elite Screens 100" CineWhite screen in a SilverFrame.
