Summary: Picked up a GT700 as my first foray into building a home theater system. I had never done something like that before, so i picked up what had semi-good reviews, and was affordable. The GT700 is a "just fine" system. I have the 360, PS3, and Wii U all hooked up to an HDMI switch running to a 25 foot high gain HDMI cable to the projector on the ceiling.

Summary: When I initially got this, I and my family loved it. The short-throw system was great for our basement, allowing more flexibility in placement, and allowing reasonable use of XBOX Kinect. I didn't want to get a regular LCD or Plasma because it would be more difficult to install and to dispose of when it ultimately dies. We were satisfied for gaming and videos.
Summary: The features in this projector are generally very good with a easy to navigate menu. The only exception to this is turning the 3d on and off which i have found somewhat tricky to do. The buttons on the remote being illuminated are especially helpful My room space is less than ideal but set up was very easy and in terms of calibrating the picture to my screen its been fairly easy.
Pros: HD, 3d, lightweight and portable
Cons: Not 1080p, bundled speakers are poor, i feel more lumens could be added
Summary: Nice projector i get about 120 inches in my office. the only thing i have issues with it, i dont know it if the cable or hdmi port but it if touched can be a pain to get a signal back. other than that awesome.
Summary: I have had the projector for about two years now and have had 3 issues with it. 1) When I first got the projector and turned it on I fund that there was an issue. It would shut down after about 5 minutes and I had to wait before I could turn it back on. After several times of this happening I called Optoma and they directed me to ship it back to them (at my cost) to get fixed. It was under warranty so it did not cost me anything other than the shipping...
Summary: I used this product quite frequently for several months and only experienced one issue that is apparently not uncommon with this model (maybe others as well). The color wheel stopped spinning properly. This showed up as odd colors on the screen and flickering. Due to my location a replacement wheel wasn't available so I did the next best thing, I dismantled it and very very very carefully put a little oil on the bearings for the color wheel.
Summary: I am a DJ who mixes videos. I use this projector with a stretchy spandex screen (Dj Screen from odyssey) and do rear projection with it. I have purchased 2 of these for that type of use. I used one of these outside at a steady gig and when the bar owner saw it he ordered one for himself. For the outside patio gig I had to move this in and out every night.. sometimes after a few rum and cokes... so it is scratched up, and beaten.. but it still works great.
Summary: Optoma GT700 Projector has been an excellent all around source for viewing movies or games through a game consel or a computer. The only problem I had with the projector was my inability to play 3D movies even after purchasing a box that was suppose to allow the play of 3D movies.
Summary: This projector Out does my Infocus x1 and many others that I have seen on display. Bright even during the day and you can see from a HUGE angel. No grain on even the fastest actions sceenes. I have it on a 130" screen. Play many first person shooters on the XBOX 360 at 1080P and it keeps up great!
