Summary: The Good First Impressions: This things AMAZING! I had a studio apartment with HUGE white walls that I was capable of transforming into a 10'15' gaming/movie theater screen in a matter of minutes. Even bought a clock to place on the wall so whatever we were watching, it would also tell the time.
Summary: I bought this about 3 years ago, the bulb went in the first year and I replaced it, then it started getting dead pixels, stationary white and blue dots that appear on everything that you watch with the projector, very annoying and distracting.
Summary: Picked up a GT700 as my first foray into building a home theater system. I had never done something like that before, so i picked up what had semi-good reviews, and was affordable. The GT700 is a "just fine" system.
Summary: I have had the projector for about two years now and have had 3 issues with it. 1) When I first got the projector and turned it on I fund that there was an issue. It would shut down after about 5 minutes and I had to wait before I could turn it back on.
Summary: I used this product quite frequently for several months and only experienced one issue that is apparently not uncommon with this model (maybe others as well). The color wheel stopped spinning properly. This showed up as odd colors on the screen and flickering.
Summary: Optoma GT700 Projector has been an excellent all around source for viewing movies or games through a game consel or a computer. The only problem I had with the projector was my inability to play 3D movies even after purchasing a box that was suppose to allow the play of 3D movies.
Summary: Pros: Great color out of the box. Nice selection of inputs. Short Throw! (100" screen from about 6 feet of distance) Nice and bright. 5000 hours of lamp life!!! Cons: Fault DMD chips are rampant in reports on the internet.
