Optoma ep727

The ep727 from Optoma is an inexpensive multi-purpose video projector utilizing DLP display technology. The projector measures 10.2 x 2.8 x 7.4 inches (W x H x D) and is available in a black colored enclosure. It features a single 1 watt mono speaker and a Kensington lock slot. The ep727 is well-suited for presentations with its lightweight (approximately 4.4 pounds) and the included remote control with integrated laser pointer. Other accessories included in the box are a carrying case, VGA cable and a lens cap.

The Optoma ep727 offers several video inputs including a DVI port with HDCP compliance, VGA-in and S-Video. Other connectors are a VGA out, audio in, RS-232 and USB ports. The projector is compatible with NTSC, PAL and SECAM analog video signals as well as EDTV (480p) and HDTV (576i/p, 720p, 1080i) digital signals.

The projector outputs images at a native resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels (XGA) and an aspect ratio of 4:3. In addition to these, the ep727 is also capable of projecting images at VGA, SVGA, SXGA, SXGA+ and UXGA Resized resolutions and 1.78:1, 5:4 and 16:9 aspect ratios.

The ep727’s 180 watt lamp has an estimated life of 2000 hours (Standard mode) to 3000 hours (Eco Mode) depending on usage. It has a brightness level of 2200 ANSI lumens and a typical contrast ratio of 2200:1.

Projection image sizes of 24.6 inches to 302.9 inches are achievable from a recommended throw distance of 3.9 feet to 39.4 feet. The ep727 offers vertical keystone correction of +/- 40 degrees.
